So I had the DRL recall done about 2 months ago. I noticed the truck still seemed to flicker when it came back, but I couldn't recreate the issue. It's been in the shop 3 weeks for unrelated hail repair, so I havent had a ton of time to mess around. Then I unlocked the truck while walking towards it this evening and it was flickering BAD on the driver side. It actually happened on back to back attempts. The sun had just gone behind the mountains if that matters.

The dealer said they would need to do more extensive diagnostics beyond the recall. Not happy being as I've owned the truck 6 months and actually have physically had it for less than 3. What should the dealer look towards as the culprit?

Worse than all that, the damn hail repair guys fucked up some more stuff so it has to go back again for new bedrails and rear window frame repaint from where they removed the window with a prybar it seems.

Wow you've had a string of bad luck with the truck. Did you do any of the Forscan changes to alter with the DRL brightness?

No I haven't even bought the stuff for Forscan yet. Might consider it in the future.

What exactly is the recall updating to fix the flickering DRLs? Would this possibly turn into some kind of electronics module swap?

See the attached document which includes the detailed remedy procedure for both trucks with HCM and trucks without HCM; the module that's reprogrammed (HCM or BCM) depends on your headlight configuration.

Sounds like they might have only reflashed it once then. Thank you for the doc.
