Wondering if anyone knows if there is an option w/ forscan to edit the DRL configuration for them to only be on when my headlights are on.. I just want to have the parking lights on with no DRL. I already have DRL set to off in the truck settings but they still come on with parking lights. I see a bunch of DRL options on the BCM but I'm not sure which one would edit this setting.

Thx

Do you mean at the DRL brightness? Because these are your front parking lights. You will not be able to disable them from the parking circuit. The most you “Might” be able to do it to turn the brightness down all the way when in parking mode. Not sure if it will let you go that low.

I only want the orange light on (with taillights), which is the parking light, right? The DRLs are the white bars on the outside edge of both head/fog lights.

The wiring diagram does light them as DRL's. Not parking lights. Either way I don't believe they can be disabled with the parking lights on. If you want to never use them there may be a way of disconnecting them. Looks like the "Grey" Wire (Pin 40) in the headlight control is for the DRL. You might be able to cut that wire and disable the DRL . This would include the ones in the foglights if so equipped. Definitely check that out yourself too. Our trucks may not be the same.

Possibly, in forscan there is an option for DRL on with parking lamps so you may mess with that and see if that does what you want.

I don't think you can turn them off and still have them work when driving.

There are a lot of options under the "easy mode" in Forscan for lighting. I found that easier than digging through Excel file when I was changing settings for taillights. Give that a look if the above doesn't do it for you.

I'll let you know if this works. Much appreciated.

Will check the easy mode options when hooked up to forscan. Didn't do that yet. Thx

This. DRLs let oncoming traffic see you, and judge your closing speed when they or you are making a pass on a two lane highway. Not having DRLs on makes you a lot less safe. There's a reason they exist and you just need to watch any of the thousands of head-on crash videos out there to understand why. Between 2016-2018 there were over 15,000 head-on collision fatalities in the US alone.

Food for thought.
