Doesn't the raptor have the orange DRLS and the Tremor White still?

Also in the video above it was the fog light DRL flashing, not the headlights DRL

Yes the Raptor DRL in the headlight is orange. When i mean the DRL in the headlight im reffering to the DRL strip. There are a few videos of superduties and f150s with the same issue. Looks exactly like the video of @jrhudson11

also a superduty

Gotcha, okay. Yeah that is just weird because I know the 13th gen superduty (2020 year) had that modification which is the same line as the 2021+ F-150s but the 2017-2019 superduty has a different line. I just find it weird the LED bar is flickering on some F-150s/superduties but a lot has zero issues. I'm beginning to think it's either something the headlight or wiring issue as it seems it can't take a load for specific vehicles? I can't honestly be sure.

Could it be that since Ford lowered the brightness that they allowed units that might fail at full brightest through because they don't fail at a lower brightness?

Possibly but they lowered the brightness since the last gen as people complained they were getting flashed at because it was too bright so they put out a TSB to change the value to lower the brightness for previous gen. For me, zero issues and it’s been months for previous and present gens.

I reset mine to stock…
I’ll drive it like this for a few days to make sure everything is back to normal with no flicker. If so, I’ll re-apply the change. I’ll keep everyone posted!
Hey - I also get the occasional flicker on passenger side DRL. Can you post the default values on bcm 726-42-01? just looking for the original values that were replaced with “2” values. I believe I did a backup but may simply just enter in original values vs. restoring if possible…

I believe the 2’s were originally 3’s.

If your computer is connected to the internet (hotspot/wifi), click the “restore” button on Forscan to restore it back to factory as built before Ford servers update it to the new change; back this up just in case as well separately from your original backup, to be safe. Or just restore your original back up, takes a few seconds.

I havent ever tried this. There is a duty cycle Fixed brightness and fixed dim for the DRL. Possibly that needs to be adjusted at 38-01 along with 42-01

Its a PWM circuit. So possible the flickering is caused by a conflict in duty cycle? Just thinking could be wrong.

It’s possible as the dim cycle is default but I’m not too sure however most people just dislike the dimming of the LED bar honestly. I know why ford dimmed it due to the “complaints” some owners received via getting flash-back from the previous gen models but so far, loving it and no flickering on my end since the change. I’m not sure why only a few people are having this issue.

Jesse, do you have a recommended setting for the line at 38-01?

I don’t.. I can take a look. It’s percentage is hex to dec.

Am I right in reading there were early builds that had full brightness? If so possibly we pull a vin and look at what is there on those?

I’m sure there are people on here that better understand PWM than I do. My understanding from fuel systems is you have to increase the duty cycle if you increase the demand? I could be way off base but if you’re looking to increase the brightness wouldn’t the duty cycle also need to be increased?

Just my thinking and it could be wrong

DRL’s brightness by default was dimmed, no matter what. I’ve seen this in a 21+ xlt, lariat, limited and platinum. I’m not sure about tremor or KR. It sucks because at the beginning, ford did have the brightness high by default on the first round of the new gen (2018-2020) before they pushed a recall (software) to dim it down.

I’d like to get this flickering fix without going to the dealer if possible so I can be a test subject if required. Funny though that the flickering for me is only on the passenger side lower LED bar by the fog light. All others are fine when set to bright.

There was one that reported one of the headlight led bar was flickering, which is beyond me.
