2H is the default setting in Normal mode, so 4A shouldn't remain engaged when the mode defaults to Normal after a restart. The programmers got lazy.

No, I think this was intentional. If you select 4A manually (not tied to an automatic shift for drive mode), it should stay in 4A through key cycles. Many people stop more than 1 place and drive for days on snowy roads, or stop frequently when off roading. It would be incredibly annoying to constantly have the transfer case shifting back and forth.2H is the default setting in Normal mode, so 4A shouldn't remain engaged when the mode defaults to Normal after a restart. I agree that it should remain in the last mode selected; both the drive mode and 2x or 4x setting. In my opinion the current programming is half-baked.No, I think this was intentional. Id like to have it that way as well. I think the EPA is to blame. As I understand it, they require the vehicle to default to some drive mode in order to use that drive mode for mpg testing. Otherwise, they’d test in all the modes that it can default to and give it a rating based on the mode that does the worst.I agree that it should remain in the last mode selected; both the drive mode and 2x or 4x setting. I came from a Hyundai product (Genesis). And I’m pretty sure they will only stay in smart, eco, or comfort. If sport is selected when you turn the vehicle off, it’ll revert to comfortMy 2017 Corvette and 2020 Hyundai Palisade default to last mode used. My 2016 Camaro did the same. I used Sport mode in all three. All three had at least 2 modes (to include Eco) that achieved higher MPGs.
I was reading the owner’s manual thinking surely there is a setting that will fix this issue. My Inifini and Acura’s did/do remember the drive mode selection between trystsIt’s a rainy day, I set the drive mode to slippery and head out.
Yes!Does anyone else feel the Drive modes should stay where you (The Driver) last set it?
No price on Amazon. Not sure I want to have a 20-40 minute chore to take the truck into the dealer or risk having some officious tech "dislike" seeing a gizmo pigtailed into the soft underbelly.
