Hi all,

I finally took my dragy out of the box and set it up. Made a pass on a concrete road in 4wd a while ago. Truck has 1600 miles on it, is running on 88 octane 15% ethanol fuel, temp was right about 60 degrees. 60' time was 2.05s, 0-60 mph time was 5.3s, 1/8th mile 8.76 at 81.6 mph, 1/4 mile 13.57 at 100.2 mph. I guess this is about average for one of these. I stalled it up moderately against the converter, I did not experiment with more or less converter loading, nor did I try launching off idle. There might be a bit more in it by perfecting launch technique. Also, that pass was in normal mode. Sport mode slowed down a bit, maybe it needs some driving time in that mode to learn my driving style? It was the first time I've ever put it in sport mode. Oh, and I did not lock the rear axle. Perhaps that would have helped, since any limited slip action must have been due to braking on the right rear to keep it from spinning?

Did you turn the traction control off?

Exactly why I don’t have Dragy and won’t do a pull with my truck. It would never end with me.

OK now let me try with traction control off, locker on, locker on traction control off, no spare tire, 50PSI in front tires, mirrors folded back, windows down, premium fuel, octane additive…. It would never end for me.

That's part of the allure for me. That sort of persnickety trial and error is how I eventually got a stone stock '09 hemi rcsb to run a 13.72 at 98 mph. Well, a DA of -1300 sure helped too, but a ton of experimenting with launch and shifting technique led to that moment.

I turned off transmission adaptive learning and reset the tables.

Not sure if this would help you or not, but provides predictable, repeatable performance.

Made another pass yesterday evening. It was 18 degrees outside, and the dragy reported the DA as being -2176. Pretty much same section of road as last time, same direction. I disabled traction control to whatever extent pushing the button once does, and I locked the rear axle. It was also in 4wd of course. This time it went a 13.28 at 102, 8.56 at 83 in the 1/8th, 60 ft was 2.02, and 0-60 was 5.03.

Would it be possible for you to make a return run the opposite direction each time you do a test? I'd be interested in the two times and the average.

Also, not sure how into this you are going to get but it would also be very interesting if you were able to post a growing spread sheet that lists times and then mods as you go.

I'd have to change locations, as the return run would have me blowing through a stop sign. There will likely be no mods anytime soon, not a priority and no money at the moment for them. Gotta finish the lemon law process on the ram first.
