Hey everyone, still trying to figure out why i am in pain every time i drive my new to me F150. Its a 2023 Lariat.
I was looking under the seats and thought this was weird.. First picture is the driver's seat. As you can see, there is just a gap in the spring where the cushion just sinks through. Second picture is the passenger seat where it has a sort of plate preventing any cushion from sagging...

Does everyone's driver's seat have this gap and the cushion just sags through? Is that normal?

That's interesting. I'll have to check my '22.

You had me wondering so I went and looked. Pics are the driver and passenger seats on mine. Not sure why the passenger has that plastic piece? I pushed up on the drivers seat (where the plastic is on the passenger side) and there was nothing under the cloth. That plastic is flimsy and doesn't seem to provide any type of support.
My seats and drive position are comfy. I'm 60 years old and no unusual pains after a long day of driving. I have my pedals moved all the way to the low (down towards floor) position. First time I drove it they were all the way up and it was hard to drive. Wonder if people ever take these out for a test drive and walk away because the pedals are messed up?

Looks like the foam under the drivers seat is different from the passenger seat. Could be a structured layer (the pattern ridges)?

Part on the passenger side between foam and springs is the bladder for the occupancy sensor.
Also, looks like previous owner stuffed an extra piece of foam on your driver side. That white foam that’s sagging past the spring is not OEM. Likely why it’s uncomfortable for you.

I actually added that piece of foam, without it, the OEM foam was sinking just like that through the gap. Maybe its the OEM foam that needs to be replaced.. Just seemed weird passenger seat had a cover-like piece on that gap and the driver's does not..

Thanks for taking those pictures. Your driver's seat foam looks a lot better than mine, i think i may have to look into getting it replaced. I also have my pedals all the way to the floor but my leg still cramps up when i drive the truck unfortunately..

I'm here to ask the tough questions: How much do you weigh? Could that have played any roll- maybe previous owner?

Haha tough questions are good. I'm 6 FT and weigh 205 lbs.

It might be wear and tear from previous owner..

The support spring wore through the foam cushion on my 2014 at about 200k miles so I replaced mine with a new cushion and it was like new after that.

lol. I’m 6’1” 220- so I guess I get the fat man award for asking the question. Now I really want to look under my seat too….

Haha 220 isn't bad at all man.
Yeah i was just curious, kind of weird how the seat just has a big gap in it right where you sit on it. It kind of makes sense the foam would sag through this hole after its been worn out a bit which i think is my problem

And it was only like $80 for the cushion and ~3 hours of my time after watching a few YouTube videos on how to do it.

I think i'm definitely going to try that route! I'm pretty familiar with taking the seat out and removing the cloth, i'm assuming i would just need some kind of spray on adhesive for the new foam.
