Well...bought a new 23' F150 PowerBoost XLT Friday. Like 4 days ago Friday. Transmission wrench lit up within 70 miles of leaving dealer headed home. Pulled over immediately, called/text dealer, got a response within 45 mins or so. Drive it home as long as it isn't acting up "too bad". They'll send a loaner up in the AM and pick mine up. I started it back up, light was off, drove home and then to the gym next morning and still no light. All the while though, there was a strange vibration in the gas pedal and friction type noise in 9th gear, but it was transient. No loss of power or anything like that. Sat morning they decide, eh no warning light no problem, ok whatever you say as Ive never owned an F150... Tues evening the wrench lights up, as does the CEL for a potentially stuck closed turbo wastegate. I drive home slowly, message dealer. They tell me a loaner is no longer available and to take it to my local dealer and have them pull the codes and it should be handled quickly. So I go to the other dealer this morning and they say it's 3 weeks before they'll even look at what the issue is. My dealer says they're out of loaners, this dealer that has my truck will not loan one, meanwhile I'm sitting in the frickin lobby of my Huntsville dealer that I didn't even buy the truck from so I'm just a number...Bought a brand new truck Friday and had to miss work today, wait 6 hours at a dealership that I didn't buy the truck from, for my wife to pick me up and take me home. I have kept perspective today as much as possible...it's not cancer, no one died, we have food, etc.. You know, my issue is that I just don't feel like anyone cares other than my sales guy, who is new, I actually feel kinda bad for the guy. Stuff happens right, I mean we all know that, but it's how you handle it that sets you apart and so far it's ? not acceptable

In any other industry, the seller would be ethically obligated to go out of their way to make it right for you.
I would try the following. Call the dealer you bought it from. Tell them they need to make this right. They pay for a tow truck to pick up the truck they sold you and bring it to their shop. They reimburse you for a rental since they don't have a loaner available. They fix your truck under warranty.
If you don't ask, the answer is no anyways, so why not ask for it. Ask for the sales manager if you need to.

Anyways, just my suggestion. Others may have some ideas.

"feeling like just a number" because you're at the dealer you didn't buy the truck from. I get that feeling, except it is at the dealer I DID buy my truck from. Huntington Beach Ford has been absolutely miserable to deal with. Sorry man...that sucks

Owner, IT Consulting\MSP company.
Total bull****... Those that know me know I don't swear but this is the stuff that just pisses me off.

THEY told you to drive it home and THEY will bring you a loaner. Then THEY determined through the phone that you don't need to do anything about it.
Honestly, id drive the s***back to the dealer and unwind the deal.
Absolute bulls***. DEMAND an unwind or toss me keys to a different truck.
I am saying all this nuclear crap because you've owned the truck for 5 days and they are doing EVERYTHING they can to avoid working on this truck, which means for the next 3yrs\36,000 this company is going to continue to treat you like sh**.

Unwind the deal!!!

My gawd:
"keep driving it."
"We don't need to work on it"
"You don't need a loaner"
"Take it to another dealership"

Name of dealership?

@Ford Motor Company you really need to help this owner. On top of that, you need to deal with the terrible dealer's customer support people.

Update - I received a text last night. The service mgr from the dealer I purchased from contacted the service dept of where my truck now sits. They've magically moved me to the front of the line and will check my truck out this morning. Almost seems as if they could have gotten on the phone yesterday morning while I was sitting in the lobby and done this..Says once the issue/s is/are detected and we know if this will be a short vs long fix, we'll go from there. Also says they are trying to get a loaner available asap. Guess I have an excuse for a chilly ride on the Streetglide to the office today gents.

Believe me I've went nuclear a few times since Friday, but have so far been able to keep it to myself. I mean they ARE going to make it right, one way or the other, just hoping they step up sooner rather than later.

Good tips, thank you They're working on a plan this morning as I hear it. We'll see what they say. You'd think at this point I would have heard from some kind of management ya know? Just a "hey Mr Stacy, sorry this is happening", anything really...but crickets so far

That's some progress. Lame that it was a text message instead of a phone call. I would call up the service manager this morning and follow up. Ask if the truck is actively being looked at or if it's still in queue. If still in queue when will a tech be looking at it? Ask if the service dept looking at it has a transmission tech experienced with the hybrid powertrains and specifically the Powerboost. Get the status of the loaner. Express your dissatisfaction with the whole situation but stay calm.
It sucks, but it looks like things are moving in the right direction.

As far as I know there is no "cool off" period in AL - Lemon Laws do apply but have to meet certain criteria

BTW, did your wife leave their curling iron/hair dryer plugged in/on while you were parked? :p
