Hi Folks,

I took delivery of my truck yesterday. When I got it home I noticed a very small knick in the dash leather. I'm sure my dealer will fix it, but it's so small I'm not sure it's worth it.

Does anyone know if that one dash panel can be fairly easily removed and replaced, or is it a pretty big operation? If it's easy, I might just get them to do it... If it's major surgery, I don't think it's worth it.

Images attached.

Thoughts? Thanks!

I would let them attempt a repair (not replace). Good chance you will be satisfied, and then before you know it, one of your passengers will put their shoe up on the dash... :-(

If not satisfied with their repair, then decide on requesting a replacement.

I would not bother. My truck is for doing stuff and it's going to get dinged up anyhow. I always feel relief the first time it gets a scratch or ding (usually my fault lol) because I don't have to worry anymore.

Usually that cap isn’t that hard to replace. Although, I’m sure they’d like to repair it vs replace.

IMO the dealer should replace it. I think all that is required is to remove instrument cluster, and the attaching clips and bolts are underneath. Like the others said for the price you pay I would want it replaced. Good Luck

Dealer will blame you for the damnage if not reported on delivery Because it cant be claimed on warranty

Problem with pulling the dash and cluster is that the nice quiet dash from the factory could quickly become a squeaking, rattling mess if the reinstall isn't done correctly. Just something to consider.

True, but I find it fascinating since this was mine at delivery.

Since I found my truck 1800 miles from home and only saw it as the sales guy was setting up a few features formeasI was about to drive away...they shipped me a new panel and enough Ford Pass points to have it installed locally. I haven't got around to it yet and will probably do it myself, and yes it is a pretty involved job together at all its fasteners.
I actually kept photos from the dealer's site and you could see it in one of them so it was there when I was states away.
