LOL True, Javi has helped many people, multiple times. Now if I could just talk him into selling me his Console work table....Unlike the Ford account, I can actually provide you with useful info.
Ahhh, I glanced his post and didnt see where it was actually shot.In his case, it seems the DSP itself is fried and needs to be replaced. If that's the case, no update is going to fix that. I don't know what the DSP has to do with the other issues he is having, so he is better off letting the dealer do its thing.
The front tweeters and rear door speakers are powered by the ACM and not the DSP.Thanks for the input @rugedraw & @JJSnell. The dealer said they attempted to update the firmware but the DSP is dead and not communicating. What confuses me is, if the DSP was completely dead, why are the tweeters working - I am sure I do not fully understand what all the DSP controls, but I am assuming if one set of speakers work then the DSP is not dead & is communicating but not correctly.
No it's not that easy. Many people go with an aftermarket Zen processor and then amps after that but the Zen alone is $700-$800.Thank you @JJSnell & @rugedraw - Since the DSP runs the tweeters & rear speakers, I guess it is safe to assume that replacing the stock amp with an aftermarket amp would not fix the issue, correct? If so, looks like I better start working on my singing voice, because DSPs are currently on backorder with no sign of a recovery date.
@Ford Motor Company do you have any insight on how long these will be on back order?
Other way around. The ACM drives the front a-pillar tweeters and rear door speakers.Thank you @JJSnell & @rugedraw - Since the DSP runs the tweeters & rear speakers, I guess it is safe to assume that replacing the stock amp with an aftermarket amp would not fix the issue, correct? If so, looks like I better start working on my singing voice, because DSPs are currently on backorder with no sign of a recovery date.
