I have a 2021 F-150 Lariat. I first noticed this in October. When my truck is on cruise, it will automatically speed up to a speed limit where there is no speed limit sign. At first I thought I was imagining things and had missed a sign. However, I know have a place where the posted speed limit is 60 and the truck speeds up to 65 without a speed limit sign. The speed limit on this road was reduced from 65 to 60 several years ago. Are there geo markers within Fords cruise control?

Check your drivers settings. There is a feature that you can set that you automatically set your speed to X miles above or below the posted speed limit. I bought my 2022 used and when turning on the adaptive cruise control my truck was accelerating to 75 MPH on a 65 MPH interstate. I thought the damn thing was possessed but it was just a setting in the previous owners drivers features.

If you have intelligent cruise control turned on it will adjust speed based on a combination of the signs it reads and a database it pulls from. Sounds like you hit a spot where the database is overriding the camera read sign. I'm not sure how to report an erroneous database. I love all of the tech in my F150, but intelligent cruise is the one thing I usually keep turned off, this specific issue is one of the contributing factors.

Yes, speed sign recognition uses both visual and geo-location markers.

Recognition is something you like or hate. It isn't perfect and the geo-location markers are sometimes a PITA. Worse case I've encountered with recognition was driving on I-95, service center was located between the highway lanes, the exit speed was 35, the truck saw this sign and hit the brakes hard. Fortunately no one was behind me.

if you have active nav subscription, it gets lots of data from google maps
we have a road here that is posted at 65, yet on google it shows 70
they TXDOT fixes it in google about twice a year, but always reverts back to 70 and truck lets me know 70 is speed even though its 65
i have my speed sign recognition turned off as well
