Console Shifter issue/replacement

I have a 2021 F150 with the console shifter. When I stopped for gas, I was trying to put my truck in park and the shifter was locked in drive. I couldn’t get it to move forward no matter what I tried. I killed it thinking it would go into park but it stayed. So I got it towed home, took it apart and still couldn’t get it to budge, the shifter I completely jammed.

I’m going to replace the shifter tomorrow with a new one from ford since I’m out of warranty. Does anyone know if it requires programming or will it be a plug and play replacement?

I replaced mine recently. Just disconnect your battery and you should be good.

I had zero problems or extra steps to deal with.

I replaced mine in my 2021 also for the same issue. Mine wouldn’t move from park after stopping to eat. I didn’t disconnect battery or do any programming. Traded the truck in the following day. Was actually on my way to trade it in when it initially broke. What a day.

The reason why I said to unplug the battery is because you will get a soft code on the ECU about the shifter

Thank you everyone for your help! I just replaced it. Disconnected battery while I went and got the new shifter, plugged the new one in and everything is good!
