That’s pretty close to what I was thinking but I thought it best to keep my mouth shut in the heat of the moment.
I’m thankful we both walked away and she was an American citizen with INS.
(My brother got screwed when a van full of illegals bailed out and ran away from the crash scene that totaled his new VW.)

After reading the comments I will be consulting a lawyer on Monday.
I can see it’s going to be a real trick to get the bumper mount straight.
The truck is paid for and I was planning to keep it a long time.
This is true, could have been much worse for many reasons. Wow, brand new truck paid off, that’s something to celebrate in itself! Ha. Wish I could say that.

Really sorry to hear this. Not only is it not your fault but you’ve gotta clean up the consequences for someone else’s inattention.

Have seen it many times.

I’ve rolled a car late at night when a lowlife chucked a heavy street sign down from an overpass onto the highway right in front of me.. swerved, dropped a wheel off the edge but thought I’d caught it until my then girlfriend woke up began screaming and grabbed at the steering wheel.. she nearly caused us to wrap around a pole… got out and the little fockers were laughing on top of the bridge and took off when I started after them…

At least yours wasn’t deliberate…

I haven’t seen the estimate because they are still working on it, but I talked with the service manager.
They are going to replace the frame.

Still holding onto the estimate for possible additions but it’s currently at $30k.
New frame on order is expected next week.
Cab is repaired, new bed is painted and they threw in a Rhino spray liner.

I really hope to NEVER be contributing to this thread with my "new" truck.
I came over from a 21 Laramie 1500. I LOVED that truck, but it was totaled in a big accident. Not my fault. Guy turned left on a flashing yellow, and somehow didnt see me coming at 60mph. My light had been green for about 5 seconds. I wasnt trying to "beat the light"

The fire department had to use long crowbars to open my door get me out. No joke, I had PTSD from it for about 2 weeks. I just kept reliving the accident. My mind would just replay it. I wasnt trying to think about it.

Ive been a Ram guy my whole life. The silver lining was getting into my 21 Lariat and seeing the quantum leap in tech with Ford. Im now a convert to Ford trucks.

Glad it wasn’t worse and you’re doing better.

Others have said it, but I hope you're able to get a 5 figure DV payout from this.

My first five cars were all cheap and had bad paint, two had subpar resprays in collisions with previous owners, so when I bought my 2020 Platinum I was hoping to keep it pristine. Never been in a collision until this point. A lady in a CRV had other plans for me 7 months into ownership, and same story 11 months after I got my 2021. If this turns into a trilogy I'll quit buying such new and high trim models

Don’t think that will happen. Advice from two lawyers and two insurance brokers it’s best to get the repair and a adjustment check for diminished value.
$30k isn’t even half the value of this truck. Maybe if it was my insurance footing the bill I’d feel different.

I’m hoping for the best. The repair shop is a division of Serv-Pro with trained Ford techs and the service manager has been very open and reassuring.
We’ll see, I’d much rather have a new frame than one bent back into shape.

Don't buy gap coverage. Not sure what it covers in these cases.
AFAIK, it's only for totaled vehicles.
it's for when the payoff based on vehicle value is less than the outstanding loan.

Do *NOT* get it from a dealer, or as part of your loan. It costs almost nothing as part of your insurance.

HA! The dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for stuff like that. Your insurance carrier should have something that covers that. I have a flat 20% more than the estimate on my insurance and it cost like $46 for 6 months. +20% on $50k-$60k is substantial for the cost.

Diminishing value as the truck ages but a bargain for a new F-150.

You do, though, need to remember to remove it from your insurance once you loan drops below the value of the truck!

Got my truck back Thursday.

Paint work is excellent with a lifetime warranty but they missed a small area at the right corner rear window edge.
The new frame and bed have a much better paint coating than what it replaced, especially the frame, almost looks undercoated. New bed got Rhino lined which I didn’t have before.

Drives as new except the alignment is off a bit, slight pull to the right and steering wheel isn’t straight.
Sensor on tailgate may need adjustment, occasionally I’ll get a flicker warning light saying the tailgate is ajar.
Two parts are missing, the top engine cover and the skid plate covering the tranny, found one bolt loose that held the muffler to the frame.

The rest is nick picking cosmetic stuff.
I have a touch of OCD and worked as an inspector-auditor but Wednesday they said all it needed was a detailing and should be ready the next day. Picked it up late afternoon Thursday.

They washed it and that was half ass done.
Being in a body shop it was obvious. The roof was covered with water spots that may take a polishing to remove. Below the roof line was spotless except for the wheels and windows.

The interior had a light dusting in the vents and top of seats, they didn’t cover the floor mats but might have wiped them off. I’m glad I put the stock mats back in. Some areas of carpet had dusty spots.
They replaced the rear window and I suspect this is when most of that got in.
I’d advised them, in a case like this is to tape over the vents and cover the floor.

Exterior wise the front bumper wasn’t centered exactly, the exhaust tip had over spray on it and paint drops and bondo drops were on the r/h rear corner of the running board, everything else looked great.

Crash Champions are a division of Serv-Pro and it sounds like they did the body work, they use another company who “specializes” in frame swaps.

I’ll be addressing this stuff with them next week but skeptical if they can re-align it properly.

I’ve also have a TSB that needs to be done at the dealership and a warranty item on “sound compensation volume” of the radio not working. Those two things existed prior to the crash. At that time I’m going to have the dealer do a thorough inspection as well.

Total repair bill hit $41k, truck listed at $76k. State Farm Ins dished that out. I will say their customer service stinks (as does most these days) I had to extend my rental through Hertz for two weeks, trying to get that was a hassle and should have been taken care of by CC, imo. Hertz was also disappoint
CC has been always informative of the process and very easy to work with.

I’m 95% happy to have my truck back, the mid-alignment bothers me and I’ve done my own detailing yesterday except on the running board.
Im still debating on obtaining a lawyer to pursue suing for diminished value but have gotten a list of comparable trucks and their values.

Retired and not looking. I am driving the wife crazy.
Get that front end aligned by a Ford dealer with late model equipment. You should not pay for that. Get before and after alignment sheets. That should straighten out the steering wheel. Get someone to follow you to check tracking. If this doesn't work the insurance company needs to know sooner rather than later. I would pursue diminished value, particularly if you cannot get the wheel, pulling, tracking or whatever fixed properly. A good lawyer can help you there.
