So I received my VIN on Friday. My question is regarding the Co-pilot Assist 2.0 in the 502a package says it requires 360 camera or tow tech package. I ordered neither. Which I regret now but have a VIN. So I’m pretty sure it’s to late to change order although I contacted dealer to ask for it to be added just in case it isn’t to late. Leads me to my question…….IF it’s required why did it let me order without? I would assume when the sales manager put my order in, it would have either added the required options or not give a clean order without required items.

Sorry for the long post but I’m freaking out a bit about things not working on the truck that I want because I didn’t order an option that is required. As an after thought….It was a mistake on my part not getting the 360 cameras in the first place. But if it was required then they should have been added anyway right? Or it’s a misprint and they are not required for the things included in the Assist 2.0 to work.

I ordered a 502a Lariat Sport. It comes with trailer tow/back-up assist but I didn’t get the 360 cameras, which I wish I did. The 502a package does include co-pilot assist but not active prep. Anyway, kinda regret not getting the cameras…. I actually just like how they look on the mirrors but the functionality would be good to have as well.

You can’t get it without, when you add Co-Pilot Assist it’ll automatically add in the 360 degree camera package. Don’t worry, your truck won’t somehow come non-functional, the Assist stuff literally can’t even work without the cameras. If it has Assist you’ll have the cameras on there as well, it can’t be ordered/configured without them, it would be an invalid config.

Let’s hope that is the case. When I put my VIN and Order number into the tracker, both here and Ford, neither say it added the Camera package.

Care to share your VIN? I’d be interested to see the window sticker.

Don’t have a sticker yet but VIN is

Oh that’s what I was hoping to see. That should show the complete breakdown of everything that got added. It does seem weird how even the online configurator doesn’t mark the cameras as included on the 502A which includes Co-Pilot Assist.

On any trim or package that doesn’t include Co-Pilot Assist the cameras are mandatory and come with it, so I’m thinking it’s just got to be some bug with the build tool.

Maybe someone with a 502A that didn’t select the cameras can chime in. I really didn’t think it was possible to get Assist without them though, I don’t think I’ve seen a config where it had one but not the other. Even the build tool still says it requires the cameras, so I bet it’ll have it one way or the other.

Dealer says that most of the Assist 2.0 stuff uses radar not cameras. So I’m confused. You can’t see lane markers without a camera. Anyone confirm that has a 502a without the camera package that all the features work? Also dealer says they will attempt to add camera package to my order after a VIN assigned. But they don’t think they will be successful. And if they are…it will more then likely move my build date.

After all this I still think there is truth to the fact it will come with cameras as Ford is not dumb enough to sell a 60k+ truck that most of the intelligent features don’t work, as it would be as said earlier as an invalid configuration. There has to be multiple 502a trucks out there without cameras and have the Co-pilot Assist 2.0 functions still work or there would be post after post about it here.

The lane centering stuff definitely is all camera based for detection of the lines, but the adaptive cruise likely uses some radar for detecting how far the next car is in front of you. I still believe that Co-Pilot Assist without cameras is an “invalid config” and will be fixed by the time it gets scheduled for production. Their own site says Assist requires the cameras or the tow tech package (Which includes the cameras) so the fact that it’s even letting you configure one online as such is contradictory to their own requirements.

I ordered a 502a. The big appeal of 502a is co-pilot assist but the 360 camera package is not automatically included, at least in Canada anyway. It’s an additional $800 to get the 360 camera package. My window sticker does not mention 360 cameras anywhere and those that do have 360 cameras have it specifically listed as an option in their stickers.

So even though it doesn’t list it, does it actually have them though? Ie can you do the 360 view when backing up, see the front bumper view etc?

That’s what it does on most trims and I thought as well, it it appears due to some weird issue with the config tool you currently can configure a 502A to have Co-Pilot Assist but not the 360 camera package.

That is exactly what happened to me and also let me order it that way.
