When I drive over a pothole or a dip in the road I can hear a clunking noise coming from the passenger side. It seems like it happens when the wheel drops.

Any ideas what this could be? I’m hesitant to bring it to the dealer because I know I’ll be without the truck for a while.

Truck is stock.

I have the same issue. 21 Job 2 302A with FX4. Dealer looked at it a couple of weeks ago and said everything was tight, so they "think" it's a bad RF shock and ordered one. The more I've listened to it since then, the more I agree, because it also seems to bounce a bit on that corner with any significant suspension travel. They're replacing the shock Wednesday, so we'll see.

Usually a shock/strut problem. On some Ford vehicles the actual strut mount is the issue. Simple repair and can be done at home if you have basic tooling.

Best advice: move out of the city lol

Interesting. Mine is also a 302a FX4.

Thanks for the tips guys. I’ll give the dealer a call to see what their schedule is lately.

A shock or strut mount seems logical.

As far as the city, we are on the edge of the country and the roads out here are where I have the most problems! I do want to go further out though!

Ive had this issue a while. December 20 Build XL FX4

Its only really going over speed bumps in my parking lot. Now I see others with the same issue I may look into it.

Hi there. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your F-150. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you with this clunking noise concern on my end.

Replacement of the RF shock today does not seem to have resolved my issue. Will be calling the dealer back in the morning.

Is it the axle bolt?

They are breaking off. Take the left rear wheel off to see if the bolt head is there.

Mine seems to be the front passenger side. I haven’t called my dealer yet, but may give it a go next week.

I have been having this same noise. It seems like something is loose in the front end. It does it all the time when driving over bumps on our rough Wisconsin roads. Truck is stock, 9000 miles.

Thought that was a max tow only thing?

@Ford Motor Company I am having a problem with my 2021 Raptor, sounds like a golf ball is loose in a pocket between the cab and the bed. Removed everything from the bed, checked everything in the back, rode in the back seat, feels/sounds like from under the vehicle. Occasionally when the truck is tilted as in a banked curve I hear it (like a ball rolled to the side), but mostly over the bumps. I looked underneath, thought maybe because the skid plate over the gas tank wasn't secured in the front, could bounce, but after putting a rubber hose piece between, it made no difference, so that isn't it. Seems odd if really suspension or shocks? Hearing a TON of other Raptor owners describing same issue. Any help??

I have the same noise, did you end up finding a solution to this? I have replaced sway bar links and noise is still present.

Check the upper control arm, I found mine was not torqued properly after a level kit install, and it was sliding front to back just a tiny bit as it went up and down. It would make a clunk every time it hit end of travel front to back.
