Chip hold My22 & My23

So last night my neighbor rolls in with a brand new Maverick. Of course I had to go over and chat. He placed his order back in December and just got his truck. I asked if the build was delayed or if he had been on a chip hold. He had no clue. Apparently some people have way more patience than I do. ?

Dang, I have a buddy that ordered a maverick last October and he's not scheduled to go into production until mid December. And of course that keeps getting pushed back. He too is a bit more patient than me haha

Latest update.

Last I heard from Ford person was my truck was on its way. I speculated that it was just smoke and mirrors to make me content. I left it alone.

Yesterday I check the tracker and it looks like it went backwards. Went from "shipped in transit" back to "built". To say I was mad would be grossly understated.

I fire off a very short email to this Nicolas fella about how displeased I was in how this is going and that I am on week 30 of waiting for a XLT build.

He responded very quickly in about 15 minutes showing tracking and said my truck is in Louisville and will be delivered very soon.

My buddy sent me a pic of the carrier BOL that had my truck on it. It was delivered last night around 8pm to the dealer.

What a great visit with my dealer today. Service dept was shocked I don't have my truck yet, at least that's the reaction they showed me. They then joked about a bet if my new truck shows before my service appointment in just over two weeks. My money is I will be keeping the appointment.

Sales person and sales manager are off on Fridays & Saturdays. No surprise since they don't have enough vehicles to sell, even though its a pretty sizable dealership. The wait continues but I will be contacting one of the exec.'s, thanks @Blackout150

I can shit post so we can get there faster? lmao. on a serious note I am not sure whats worse being on a chip hold or awaiting for shipment. I have been waiting for shipment since 9/29 I just spoke to ford chat today and they changed my date to November 10th. I am very close on giving up on this truck.

I really cannot understand how my awaiting shipment time has exceeded the chip hold/production time.

If something is wrong, tell me and let's get that deposit back so I can purchase a MY23

I'm really close to jumping ship. Looking at a comparable spec'd 2021 one out of state. Can someone please tell me why these are wrapped and if I should be concerned with that rust that I also circled?

Not sure why they are wrapped but the rust is nothing to worry about. Ideally, a new vehicle frame shouldn't have any surface rust but it would look like that after one month of winter here.

Not sure about the wire/cable wrap, but that rust appears to be the bump stop for the suspension.

Yeah it looks like the bump stops are just hella dirty. Maybe the wrapping is from a piece that didn't pass quality control so they switched it out and just happen to have different color wrapping that day.

I am out. I had enough of Ford's lies and false promises. The underside is pristine, looks like it should. Wanted my Tremor but this will work out fine. The 6.2 sounds sweet.
