I just got my 2021 F 150 lariat end of November. Got charge system fault 9 days later. Truck still fires up no issues with screens. I have a service appointment but it’s not until the close to the end of January. Has anyone gotten their trucks serviced and what they did?

Hello, Gil!
Send us a private message with your VIN and the name and location of your local Ford dealer.
I’d be happy to see what I can do to assist with this charge system fault. Thanks!

Reviving this question as I just received the same fault. Cannot get in for service appt until next week. Noticed my 120VAC outlet not working in front or rear console. How did you make out with this?

Has it by chance been during wet weather?

Had that happen to me some 4 1/2 months after delivery. Was coming into Thanksgiving weekend with a lot of family travel in the offing. Stopped on the road and purchased a NAPA AGM Battery for the truck. On getting home after the weekend put it on what I call a wetting down charge with an AGM Battery charger. Took some 10 hours to get to completion. Haven't had a peep out of the battery since then. Note that on completing the charge battery no load terminal voltage was ~13.2 VDC. The Truck's system ran that down to 12.6VDC where it has sat ever since. But, not a peep since. Had the OEM battery checked out by the dealer and they said nothing wrong with the battery...

I had the same code so I bought a brand new H8 battery did the wetting down as you did but it took a little longer. Installed battery same fault came up. Reset BMS a few times still same issue. Is there anything I am missing or maybe didn’t do?

I suspect it took a little longer since an H8 battery is a bit larger. Did you get a Ford battery from your dealer? Interestingly, I did not reset the BMS because I wasn't smart enough to know that it needed to be. Bought the battery at a NAPA along I-80 (having driven a bit over a hundred miles to get there) and then traveled some 300+ miles with the new battery before truck shutdown. Perhaps that had something to do with it. My "wetting down charge" occurred when I got home after Thanksgiving weekend travels, less than a week from install. Speculation on my part, but could the fact of a larger battery somehow fool the software? The one thing I look for on a new battery, when able, is the manufacture date. This is so I don't get a shelf battery that's been sitting on the store's shelf too long... But then never had a bad NAPA battery, only one that ever failed on me was one bought in Guam where batteries are notorious for failing from the heat near the equator. ...And NAPA made good on it. This is curious so we'll just have to see what else along these lines pops up. Beginning to wonder if the fact of the DC-DC convertor and its programming has something to do with this stuff.

Hey snyce, why do you ask? This happened to me recently after a rain storm, along with my rear windows not working anymore. Any info on what could be going on?
