Is there a way to change oil change interval? 22 3.5 eco boost truck is set at 7500. Everything I read says ford recommends 5000. Just seeing if it can be changed so I don’t have to remember mileage.

Thanks

Following, I would like to know this as well. I’m my 2011, I can set it to the percentage I want in 10% increments.

There's not a set distance, the oil life is an algorithm that takes how the truck is driven into account, so the total milage will vary. Best to write down your mileage some where.

Not sure what "everything" you are reading, but per your owner's manual Ford's recommendation is to follow the Oil Life Monitor (OLM).

The OLM is not set at a fixed 7500 miles, it varies based on driving conditions. In my most recent case for example, my OLM showed 0% remaining at 5265 miles after the previous change / reset (had a some towing in hot weather during that time).

Ford F-150 Change oil change interval using Forscan? OLM INTERVAL

AFAIK there is no way to modify the OLM algorithm using FORScan.

Last oil change before end OLM was 7300 with 25% left. 3 camping trips towing 1000miles rest daily driving

Go with what makes you happy, no worries, but you'll just have to accept the 'burden' of watching for even 5k mile increments on your odometer instead of relying on a reminder from the vehicle.

Surely you can remember that?

(oh, and your use of "everyone" is pure hyperbole)

What these guys said. For example on my truck, when I switched from straight gasoline to E85, I was seeing approximately 2500-3000miles for the oil change frequency....which is what I would do anyway.

I agree. I plan to do every 5000 also once I get my truck. With my current truck, every time I do an oil change I can set the oil life meter to 60%, which works out to be pretty close to 5000 miles for my typical driving. Would be nice if Ford didn’t remove features like that.

I reset Trip 1 every fill up and Trip 2 for oil change mileage. Change my 3.5 EB every 8,000km or 5,000 miles. Cheap price to pay verses a motor replacement.

^^^THIS!

Trip 2 is the way to track between oil changes.

There are many videos of ford techs showing bossted engines that have issues and usually from lack of oil changes, even though some of them have followed Ford OLM. Basically, if your vehicle is boosted (Turbo or supercharged) I follow the 3k miles (5k kms) and naturally aspirated engines do 5k miles (~8k kms). I have followed this advice for many years on my vehicles and my wifes vehicle. No cam phasers issues or anything. Ford OLM is good as it mostly gets these engines past warranty with a good buffer but after that they really start getting issues. Even getting your oil tested doesn't always show issues. I would never ever do 10k miles OC. Now if you only keep your vehicle for 3 years or so.. then of coarse I would just do what Ford says for their warranty since you are not keeping it and may as well not spend more than you have to.
