"carpet" skid plate

no idea how, but the skid plate has been torn off one bolt. nothing left to re attach it.
does anyone know if this piece makes a noticable difference for fuel milage ?

Take it off. All years that have it eventually fall off. You'll see many trucks on the road with it sagging down. No issue with removing it.

Others may know better and more specifically but things such as that are put there for reasons.

Could be an aerodynamic part, or a cooling duct. Or???

Mine was removed and tossed, dealer told me it was for sound only, I notice no difference

or install the factory skid plate in place of the fiber

My understanding is that it’s for sound reduction, not aerodynamics.

it can be massaged into place
IIRC you have to move a clamp for a cooling line

I got a real skid plate from Talons Garage out of Texas. Bonus: it can come with CAT guards..
5052 1/4" thick will not rust.
