The white funnel is for adding additives to your tank as well as adding gas (slowly) if needed.

What white funnel? Have I missed something?
Usually it's with the tire change "roadside kit." They assume you'll need to add fuel when you have a flat tire. :)

True, it won’t stop the thieves from drilling the gas tank, but it keeps those wanting to add things like sugar to your fuel away.
If someone wants to put sugar, or something else in your gas tank, do you really think a locking fuel door will stop them from doing damage to your truck (or car)? I doubt anyone is doing it unless it’s kids for a prank, and odds are they wouldn’t stop there, or you really pissed someone off and they’re doing something to get back at you.

Thanks, found it. I'm used to old Fords that I used for work, this is the first new one. Happy trails. Ian

The powerboost locking fuel door is there to keep you from inserting a fuel nozzle (or the little funnel) when the tank is pressurized which could cause you to get a face full of fuel. There is an emergency cable release that you can reach in case the electronic latch doesn't release. It can take a few seconds for the door to open after you push the button in the cab. This gives the system time to vent. The joys of hybrid fuel system emission regulations (google NIRCOS to get the full story if you are so inclined).

And make sure you use the funnel when filling with a gas can. Some nozzles on gas cans will fit in the capless and allow the doors to open, but if they have any external ribs they can get stuck on the backside of the door. It takes a bit of surgery to get them back out.
