With the Snugtop shell I bought for a new 2011 truck the design was much improved and the base of the shell was designed to wrap over the top of the sides of the bed. This greatly reduced the demands on the seal between the camper and the truck.

I had the top removed more than a dozen times with that truck and never needed to replace the seal and never experienced water in the bed of the truck.

I prefer the shells that secure the rear window on both sides but have a center handle to open it up. The new Snugtop lining is a felt like material and I found that my black curtains with a Velcro strip stick to the insides of the camper and make it impossible for anyone to look inside and see anything in the bed of the truck.

When I had dogs I wanted the front window to open as well as the side ones. Now that I no longer have dogs I do not need windows that open in the shell for ventilation. The fiberglass caps keep the temperature in the bed area much lower than with metal caps and ones without curtains to block the UV from the sun.

Leer 100XL here. It has been on for 2 years and I have not noticed any leaking after car washes, trips in the rain etc. The back portion of the window pops out sort of like a vent window. It does not slide all the way open and has a nice tight fit when closed. It was not cheap, optioned with carpet headliner, keyless lock/unlock and folding front window to clean the back glass but I have been very happy with it.

I have tossed around the idea of selling it but I can't convince myself that I wouldn't just end up wanting another lol.

I have a ln Action Truck Cap Countour 4 on order. Getting it installed an a few weeks in Newfoundland. I had the same cap 6 years ago on a Tundra and liked it. I believe they are made by ARE.
They are after going up in price for sure. I will post a picture when installed.

I had a Leer 100XR on my 2013 that I just traded and it was great. I was toying with going with a folding toneau on my new (to me) 2023. I am pretty sure I am going to skip that experiment and just go straight to a Leer 100XL in the next year. My current truck came with the Ford soft rolling tonneau so I am going with that now to keep a few roadside tools dry.

I changed from a retrax pro / yakima overhaul hd setup to a Rough Country modular camper shell and rhino rack HD to mount my tent. Overall, very happy with the RC shell after cross shopping it with an RSI Smartcap.

I’ve had my ARE Revo cap for 3 years and the back window struts are starting to fail So I called my local rep. They have a 5yr warranty and will be replacing them for free! all I had to do was provide the cap SN.

I just did a write-up on my Westin EXP. It's not going to end up working for me due to the height of my bike that I want to put in the bed but it's a top notch cap that I'm very impressed with overall.
