Hey everyone, I’m looking at selling my 2012 Harley f150 and upgrading to a used 2021 Limited or platinum with around 50000 kms in either of the 3.5 or powerboost. I am going this weekend to look at a few and just wondering if anyone has any tips on certain things I should be looking for or known issues to be aware of. Thanks

If its at a ford dealer, asked if you can see the service history. This way you can see if the previous owner was dealing with an issue or not. If its just normal items getting repaired and maintenance, great. If you see a repeating issue at least you can make an educated decision.

Keep in mind, the Limited has 22" wheels. While it might be a fashion statement, functionally they suck. The ride is hard and off-road ability is severely compromised due to the thin tire and shallow tread. 17 or 18" tires have a LOT more rubber cushion between the rim and rocks. I would go with the Platinum just for that reason. The 21's also won't have a working over-the-air (OTA) update system. The parts are in place, but the programming is worthless. It will take many of your hours with the help of those on this site to get it working, Dealers either don't have a clue or won't touch it due to the amount of time required.

Don’t mean to hijack, but what do you mean the 21’s don’t have a working OTA system? I just purchased a 21, it all looks exactly the same as the 22 Bronco I had.

If your '21 OTA works, you're in the minority. Most, like mine (past tense) are in OTA hell. Look up the thread with over 10,600 posts about Forscan and pay attention to Jesse Infotainment, he's brilliant.

My OTA works flawless on my 21 Lariat.

In all fairness to dzacco, the mother of all threads on this forum is the documentation that supports his claim that a 2021 F150 can be "stuck" in OTA purgatory and need some manual intervention to get it unstuck.
So it is a good idea to look at Sync and see if it's running on a version # that starts with 22 or 23

Limited only comes in a 145" wheelbase. That cancels that trim out for me. Platinums can be 157", much better IMO.

Well here is my thoughts
Most of what has been posted is good feed back
If the truck is serviced by the dealer then you should be able the get good info
But !
i have been to the dealer for several problems in which they had no answer to what the problem even might be. THIER thoughts are we could not make it happen again so we don’t know BS !
i had codes posted and they still would not do anything
Misfires, pulling a trailer 8500lbs it almost died went from 65mph to 3mph
Transmission not shifting properly in Tow Haul Mode 4-5 gear had to stop twice to put it in standard mode
I like my truck for many other reasons
It appears the technology has not been given to dealers to understand how the system really works so problems never seem the get addressed properly……
2021 F150 Platinum Hybrid 3.5
Good luck , it will be a personal choice
