I got a VIN and build date of 7/11 on 6/2. Since then I have been bumped to 8/1. Since I have a VIN, what are the chances of it not getting built before the 2022 are done in Oct.? Since the order bank for 2023 opens before mine is currently scheduled to get built, does it make sense to put in an order for a 2023 in case the 2022 never gets built or does the 2022 somehow get rolled into a 2023?

You got a VIN, you will be built. Bumped orders would be for people that do not get a VIN in time.

F150 PB (on order)
I’m not in a rush as I have a vehicle and keeping it until I have a new F150 in my physical possession. However, I’m concerned with more forced deletes. One more of those and I’m canceling my order. The only delete I can accept and wouldn’t mind would be the power tail gate for as long as I get to keep the rest of the bed utility package items. I’ll gladly take few hundred bucks back for that silly feature. Only 2 bumps for me so far

I also have a vehicle and can wait, but I don't know if I can lose anymore features on my Platinum and still accept delivery. Time will tell.

I'm supposedly in production at the moment, but I have been for over 7 days so who knows? I couldn't see my self not taking delivery unless they took out something pretty substantial like all the self driving aids

I really had a hard time with some of the "de contenting" because I've worked hard and waited my whole life to buy (what for me) is a loaded truck (I know the Lariat is the mid grade, but it's loaded for me). Even though it's not much, I really wanted the HVAC digital controllers, LED cup holders, and even the auto park was a cool feature I looked forward to even though it would probably only be used to show off to friends.

It's a tough call, because although we think we can "stick it to Ford" by taking our business elsewhere, the bottom line is they sell a billion of these things and your cancelled order would be spoken for in moments.

For me personally, Ford has me by the balls because of the PB. I know GM, Toyota, and Ram make great trucks, but there is nothing in the half ton market that fits my needs better than the PB. I tow a 7000 lb. boat at pretty high altitude (where a N/A motor is down 20% off sea level power), camp where there are not hookups, and am pretty conscious about fuel economy. If I could find another brand with a power plant that was in the ball park, I'd be all over it, but it just doesn't exist.

The new redesigned 2022 Toyota has a clone engine to the powerboost.... a 3.5L TT Hybrid

Not near as feature rich though and I love Toyota.

No generator
NiMH battery (10 year old tech)
No self driving
Very polarizing front end styling.
Not as budget friendly as past gens

I had high hopes for the new Tundra. They had over a decade to make it class leading. Instead, it’s just class competitive.

I would think if you have a VIN you're good. But these are not normal times.

My Platinum PB 701A 7.2kw was supposed to be built last week, but I've been bumped 6 times now and currently scheduled for 7/25.

I'm sure Ford can void a VIN until it's been married to a hunk of steel going down the line.

Like others have said, you have a VIN so your truck will be built in 2022. I ordered October 4th, received my VIN two weeks ago with a July 4th build week, which has already been bumped to July 18th. Like you, I'm guessing another two weeks and I'll be bumped to August 1st. With all the chip and shipping issues, I won't be surprised if I don't have my truck until this October; a full year after order. This will be my 4th F-150, but 1st custom order. The wait times are certainly disenchanting, but I'm holding out hope that I'll like the truck so much once I'm in it that I forget about the waiting part. My '16 has been so good to me for 6+ years/130k miles that I think it'll be hard to like the '22 more. TBD.

Not true, I ordered in January got a VIN in May 16th and bumped to 6/13, then to 7/4, and now 8/1. There is no correlation between getting a PIN and being bumped. I called Ford, there is no hold on any of my parts, just discretion of the scheduling department. I’m really frustrated over the process.

obviously you can be bumped week dates. This thread is about model year bumps. Thanks.
