Brake pedal issues POWERBOOST

Not sure where to start. 2022 502A is starting to give me issues. Pressed the brake pedal to start the truck, and there was a very loud pop from the brake pedal. Right off the bat, "check brake system", and a bunch of other errors popped up. Check engine and ABS light came on as well. This has now happened 4 times within a week. I have an appointment at the end of the week to get it checked out but has anybody experienced this?

I have a 22 PB 502A too. That has not happened to me but I also have less than 2000 miles on it. Let us know what you find out from the dealer after they look at it. Good luck.

From everything I can tell, it's all one assembly. The ABS/Master Cylinder/Electric Booster.... The whole enchilada.

So the good news is there's no piecemeal approach that might result in several attempts to repair. The only snag is availability, and I don't think we've seen any horror stories for that yet.

I hope we see you posting everything goes smoothly, like a warranty repair should.

If you are curious, this is what the unique Powerboost ABS/Brake assembly looks like

You can see the rod that connects to the brake pedal through the firewall on this picture

The replacement is actually very straight forward since the whole system is a single unit. It does require a PMI procedure with FDRS to get it configured specifically for your VIN. But that too is straight forward.

Would you happen to know if auto hold is controlled but this system also? I have a 23 powerboost that I use auto hold all of the time with. Every now and then the truck goes from holding to rolling a few inches then catches itself, or I’ll catch it freaks me out every time. I also can’t recreate it.

I turned on auto hold just long enough to test it out a time or 2.

On my truck, it made taking off, noticeably lurchy (?). Not smooth at all.

While no doubt auto hold uses the ABS/Brake assembly, I'm guessing the feature involves much more than just the braking hardware/software itself. So many sensors connected to various modules that are not part of applying hydraulic pressure to the calipers.

Hey there. Can you please send a message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer? I would like to take a closer look into your brake concerns!

Took my truck in and the dealership just called me to inform me the electric brake booster will need replaced. They ordered the part and are thinking it'll be in sometime next week. In the meantime, they also offered me a rental which I will pick up later today. Will update this post once I get my truck back

Well, picked up my truck yesterday and happy to report my issue has been resolved. No more popping or noises coming from when the brake pedal is pressed. Also, they updated a bunch of other SW on the truck for improvements.
