This is more of a PSA post.

When I built my truck in 2021, I opted in for the BlueCruise option. Thinking it was a one time purchase.

It’s not. It’s a $700 a year subscription!

Ford now admits they were not clear about this at the time. And now are “giving me a free year subscription”. I would rather my $2200 back!

Has anyone else going through or have been through this?

Very common knowledge. Poor job of your sales guy not making sure you knew that.

it’s why the OpenPilot thread took off. A one-time $999 alternative that works on any road, not just mapped highways.

Did you ever get an update beyond 1.0?

I though it was $500/year now?

Still way too much and there was nothing about a subscription when I picked that option

wait, you can do that??

I use adaptive cruise control almost 90% of the time i'm in a car that has it. even if i'm just going to the neighborhood store.

I really like bluecruise for the commute to work daily

Oh yeah, i love adaptive cruise control, but Blue Cruise is prices, we usually do 1 major road trip a year, so Jun/July I will buy those months, then Sept and Dec. its $50 each time, but i just wouldn't use it the other times. If i get on the interstate/highway in town its Houston...blue cruise will keep shutting off.

I'm letting my trial expire. It's not reliably consistent enough to keep me from cussing it on every drive. I don't need the added annoyance. (I drive about 90 miles a day.)

Is it because of all the construction in houston? Why does it shut off? I'm from houston, but live in Austin. I mostly stick to Mopac, and go into Round Rock a lot.

I travel to Houston and Dallas frequently. Almost once a month, so blue cruise is nice then.

290 it works well, same with 45 and 59 but, BW8 has many tolls so the cameras shut it off every time you get near one, and 610 loop, to much traffic so its not enjoyable.
