BlueCruise Review

So I finally had a good road trip to test out BlueCruise. My thoughts...
Had a trip 750 miles round trip, most on a BC highway (i65)
Wasted half the trip because I figured out BC won't engage if you have it set above 80mph...WTH , I mean come on , is that right ?
So after I figured that out , way too many drops (grab the wheel) and checking my eyes and had to take over . Very very annoying. I had to constantly remove my sunglasses to appease the sensors, the afternoon sun glare messes with sensors...
There were stretches when it worked (rare) and it's great when it works, but was capped at 80mph :(
No way I'll be paying for this after trial.
Nope, I won’t be paying for it after the trial runs out either. This is one of those sore spots with me regarding these “pay to use” features. I was already banged 2k for the stupid Bluecruise that I didn’t even want. It works but not well and when it does stay active it doesn’t instill much confidence as it can be a bit jerky and disconnect without warning and many times for no discernible reason. The utter gall of asking customers to pay 800 bucks a year really puts Fords business practice in perspective, as well as a few other things.

I've put right at 10,000 miles on mine in the past 2 months. Probably 8,500 of it has been using blue cruise. As others have said, the 80 MPH and not being able to look away for more than about a second are about the only irritants I have experienced.

For me it's money well spent.

Maybe it works better in your particular area. We have a lot of road construction you going on and that may have something to do with it’s ability to maintain the lanes. But it’s your money. If you wanna pay 800 a year for the privilege of driving with no hands, cool.

I renewed at the end of last year for $600 for 3 years. A good bit of my driving is on either I-10 or I-40 for long trips. For me, the hands free makes the drive much less tiring.

At that price I’d say it’s worth it then. Several posted that they were getting quotes after the trial ended at 800, and as much as 1300 a year. That knocks me right out of any interest

I suppose it depends on where one does most of their driving. Bluecruise works on some roads better than others around me in south central PA, the more curves the more it drops and I have to grab the wheel. A road trip to the midwest (roads are straight and flat) I was sorta bored after a while on Bluecruise.
