So I finally had a good road trip to test out BlueCruise. My thoughts...
Had a trip 750 miles round trip, most on a BC highway (i65)
Wasted half the trip because I figured out BC won't engage if you have it set above 80mph...WTH , I mean come on , is that right ?
So after I figured that out , way too many drops (grab the wheel) and checking my eyes and had to take over . Very very annoying. I had to constantly remove my sunglasses to appease the sensors, the afternoon sun glare messes with sensors...
There were stretches when it worked (rare) and it's great when it works, but was capped at 80mph :(
No way I'll be paying for this after trial.

Now you know why some many of us forked over the money for a Comma3x. Unfortunately it probably won't work with your 2024.

I haven't had any of those issues except for the 80 mph limit. I probably won't pay what they're currently asking to renew the subscription but I really like BC and use it whenever it's available.

Updated my truck back in late January. The updates made a huge difference. I drive a 1400 mile loop every 2-3 months. After the updates, the truck no longer dropped out where it would before and was better with lane centering. So it depends a lot on your software level.

he has a 2024, just be as up to date as you can get. Possibly even higher than what FDRS has for 2021 - 2023.

@BigEFord4Lyfe did you notice if it changed lanes automatically for you?

My 2024 King Ranch acted the same way as yours. They changed the camera above the nav screen that looks at your eyes and now it works as it is designed to.

BC works fine with how I use it. Not sure I'd pay the $800 a year to renew it when the time comes but I'd probably do $800 for 3 years.

Looks like BC 1.4 is fully enabled in the 2024s.

Perhaps the forscan changes can be made public in the near future since they can now be reverse engineered by anyone who wants to put the effort in.

I had my blue cruise updated to 1.4 and went 1000 mile trip and on I 5 and loved it
I agree. I have had it for a few months and it seems to work really well. The comments about the eye sensors and sunglasses I saw too, but for my experience a lot of that is the sensor not liking polarized lenses. When I switched to standard lenses (and no sun glare on the lenses), it seemed to work much better.

The problem with this is that people that don't have all the modules at the proper software levels who try to enable BC 1.4 will likely end up killing BC altogether by trying to enable something that isn't there.

yea, you have to be up to date in FDRS to enable it.
