I'm contemplating the purchase of a used 2024 Platinum. I like just about everything about it except that, so far, all of the 2024 models (except Lightning) are stuck on BlueCruise 1.2 and there seems to be zero information on the timeline or even if Ford is going to upgrade the 2024 models at all. Who knows: maybe there's something about the 2024 that is causing Ford problems with the 1.4 software. Could the 2024 mid-cycle refresh have included a cheapening of the tech in a way that has this one model year stuck on 1.2? Does anyone actually know?

I would hate to buy a 2024 only to find out I'm NEVER getting 1.4 because I've driven both 1.2 and 1.4 and the difference is noticeable. Thanks!

Edit: Sorry, it looks like I put this in the wrong sub-forum and there's a section specifically for tech.

I have it on my 2022 Tremor. Required a Forscan tweak.

That’s not the question or the op’s concern if you have it on your 22 tremor. Maybe you misunderstood his question.

The ‘24’s and 25’s have not been able to be updated to bc 1.4 at all. No tweaks or work arounds are available right now to update it. He’s asking if anyone knows if it will ever be possible to be updated. I think we are at the point that only Ford knows as nothing has leaked or been hinted at that an update is coming.

According to this chart, 2025 F-150s shipped with BC 1.4.

How do I know which version of BlueCruise is available for my vehicle?

How do you know what version BlueCruise you have driven? I haven't found any place that tells what BC version is installed on my vehicle.

I don't think there is a way through normal methods. I have a 24 F150 Tremor 401A build date 10/22/24 purchased 2/1/25. The only OTA update I've ever received was for the window bounce back issue which it resolved. I've used BC a few times and it works well. I just buy it a month at a time when I want it. It does automatically change lanes when I use the turn signal. Not sure if 1.2 and 1.4 are both capable of that. Differences in functional descriptions are about the only way I can think of to know.
