Blue Cruise Not allowing hands free

Note that turning the vehicle on and off in fairly rapid succession may not count as multiple cycles. The manual mentions that certain components of the vehicle may stay "on" for up to 90 minutes after you turn the vehicle off. So those 12 "cycles" might not really count as full cycles if you only stopped at a store and turned the vehicle off for a couple of minutes, for example.

Totally understand it’s a subscription service. Updates or not the truck still is capable of seeing the road. These updates don’t prevent it from safely driving.

Sure, and that's why your hands-on "GreenCruise" should still work just fine. If I recall correctly, only the hands-free BlueCruise require the subscription, and therefore could "expire" due to a bad map update extension.

Sounds like you just purchased a month or so ago (same situtation as me). In my opinion, Ford SHOULD have plugged in that 2025 date as the expiration date, so that your maps don't expire even if they don't update successfully.

Knowing that these systems are really only Level 2 driver assistance systems, I wonder if Ford plugged in short-term map expiration dates to give themselves an out if the systems failed in some unforeseen way? In that scenario, it would automatically disable for everybody by not providing map updates, without having to try to send an update to turn it off. I could guess that they might do something like this if they needed to still prove to regulators that the system really works out in the real world on a massive scale, before opening it up full tilt.

Early adopters or not we shouldn’t be penalized especially when we drop CAD$2000 on BlueCruise if they are trying to cover their asses.

Problem is, "Jesse-techs" aren't going to be found in numbers.
There are more than 3000 dealerships just in North America.
Which one gets one? ?

Besides, as pessimistic as it might sound, someone like Jesse wouldn't last long at a dealership. I'm pretty sure that he'd have to pretend the emporer has clothes on?

I can send you an update. You have a couple DTCs though. Crankshaft sensor not relearned. End of Line mode active.

We may need to look at those first.

Your Gateway is out of date and that is what is causing Blue Cruise to not activate.

Ok. How do I remedy those DTCs? I have forscan and I have a very good odb2 dongle.

Can you do a fresh scan in forscan and verify they are still active. I want to make sure they are. Have you had your truck to the dealer recently for anythign ?
