I have a 2022 3.5 EB that obviously calls for 5W-30. Needed to get my tires rebalanced and Belle Tire also does oil changes. On the phone they quoted $85 for the oil change which he said was 5,000 mile interval full synthetic. When I paid, the total was $110 and a different person was at the register and when I asked about the price difference he said it was for the 10,000 mile interval oil. I’ll never go 10,000 miles, since I change at 5,000-7,000 regardless of what my oil life monitor says.
Anyway, my receipt says they used Mobil Special X1 5W-30. Receipt says synthetic but I read that it may be a blend. Does anyone know anything about the Special line? I can’t find much info on it.

I don't find a listing for that specific oil.
I'm sure you are fine with it. But I would request specs on it from them to see if it's got the 3.5 Ecoboost Ford recommended certs. (WSS-M2C946-B1)

If you didn't request "10,000 mile" oil when you dropped off the truck you aren't obligated to pay for it. That is just an under the table add-on designed to extract more money. In any event you were told full synthetic oil so $25 for some kind of upgrade is pricey. Complain and file with the BBB.

Found this. Looks like it covers it, but still going to go back in and ask for some more info when I get back from my trip. And see about getting a partial refund. As mentioned, didn’t want 10,000 mile oil since I change well before that.
