Back Ordered Trailer Brake Controller

Long shot, but does anyone have any insight on when trailer brake controllers will be back in stock as they seem to be out of stock in both Canada and US. My dealer ordered mine a month ago and still no word. I am supposed to pick up my travel trailer in two weeks.

I see this thread is a few days old at this point, just saw it. I've been waiting since the beginning of September 2022. The dealer I bought the truck and controller from at same time put in an "emergency order" the first week of April, a few days later they called and told me it was still backordered until the end of June at the earliest. I know this doesn't help much but that's the only insight I have to share. Very frustrated and confused how it could possibly take this long.

I gave up on the backordered TBC from ford and decided to try to piece the kit together via ebay.

The gain controller was easy, that was only $100.

The tricky part was the TRM. The replacement TRM needed to come from a truck that already had a TBC, to make sure I could enable it via forscan. I resorted to googling the vin numbers from TRMs on ebay. I managed to find pictures from the auction of the donor vehicle being parted out, and eventually found one that had a picture of a truck with a gain controller. Bought it for another $100, swapped the TRM in, and it works like a charm.

Saved myself $70 over fords kit, too.

I had the same problem back ordered since February with no date on arrival, I just used my old after market prodigy TBC from my 2008 f150. It just required a new wiring harness from etrailer, 20 bucks for harness. Super easy to install just find the Grey 4 wire plug on the wall left of brake pedal, it looks like it's plugged in but it's just be held there! I think my prodigy was 150 bucks but I bought in 2017 so who knows now!

I got an email yesterday from Ford Accessories that the TBC was off of back order and now available. I ordered one immediately. I got a confirmation but I‘m not sure I’ll believe it is coming until I get a shipping notice.
