Hi everyone, it might sound not related to here but I really need help with the DTC B1578:78-2F Digital Park Assist Camera Vision System on my Ranger Raptor 2024, the code been triggered after a minor accident that’s collided and streaked by a bike to the left side of the truck causing the side mirror bend opposite, (i don’t really sure it’s because of the collision or the repaint works cause i do sent it for repaint then, and they need to take off the side mirror for doing that) and luckily nothing really break after the collision, except for the door dent and paint, and the side mirror do can be return to its position too.

And the code triggered after days, getting to know it by Forscan DTC reading, (im not really sure is that caused by the collision but i think it should be) i did checked the mounting and connector etc, all the cable and connector stay and fit well as before, the side mirror cam mounting doesn’t need to be though cause it doesn’t break or come loose, it just stay at where it’s before.

Been done the 360 Calibration, Rear Cam Calibration, Pro Trailer Backup Assist Calibration and the IPMA Module self test and module reboot, self test results without error with Forscan, those calibration failed for 1 or 2 times in the first place but successfully afterwards, still the DTC won’t go, but im going to try again those calibration again at a less busy and well marked road (what i did before was at the neighborhood road with less clear marked line and lot of corners, and also where the steering wheel can’t be putting straight at all the time).

Is that anything else i can do to fix this? Anyway everything just work fine, the 360 cam, the lane keeping, the acc, im just so sick of that DTC code to keep staying there, Thanks in advance!

P/S : The Forscan DTC screenshot wasn’t mine, but for that B1578 code it’s the exact same as mine, and a picture of just post-collision of my Ranger Raptor.

When you say it eventually passed, did it go to 100% quite quickly? If so, it didn't really do the calibration. It should take a couple of minutes at least in my experience. Try running the calibration again but in a very well marked parking lot. Try it with cars either side and without so that lines can clearly be seen. Don't forget to reset DTCs before and after.

If the calibration still fails or if the DTC won't clear, it might need a calibration procedure to be performed in FDRS. I have had success with FDRS when FORScan has had difficulty.

you got the same DTC code before too? And yes, the calibration do sucess and take about 10 minutes for each of them.. will try do again in a well clear marked place

Yes, on multiple trucks. The camera system can be very sensitive to orientation; swapping mirrors to/from tow mirrors or simply replacing or taking off and back on can be enough to trigger that dtc

Well, tried several times failed and success calibration, no luck in the end, the code just stay and it such a pain in the ass is all i can say now?

Unless others have more Gary, all I can suggest extra is to disconnect battery for 20 minutes, then after reconnecting reboot the IPMA module in service procedures and clear and retest DTCs. If still there, perform another successful calibration and retest DTCs again. Failing all that, it might need something to be done in FDRS. Otherwise, if the cameras give a decently stitched image on 360 view, I'd not worry, or see if the dealer can rectify ?‍♂

I did tried again for 3/4 times just now with the rear cam calibration forscan, the B1578 finally gone! Damn i did those calibration like over 10 times within these 2 days… fuckk
