Sorry for another post on this. I saw it posted somewhere, didn’t bookmark, and now I can find it

I’m not super impressed with the B&O unleashed, but have warmed up to by playing with settings.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far. What have your changed yours too?

- fade ...move back to just behind “back” cupholders in center console
- surround sound ... on
- high, mid, low ... up to 80%, up to 80%, leave at 50%

thx.

Leave the tone controls flat/50%. Surround on. Fade back a bit.

If using car play make sure sound check is off.

IMO, that’s the best you can do.

New door speakers (component front), coax in the rear doors, and a cheap powered sub enclosure will take it up a notch. Use efficient speakers to maximize what little power the amps provide.

I’m hoping to just use settings and not make physical changes.

I have to agree...new/better speakers make a big difference. I did my frts in stages. First did the door speakers...better but not that much. ( I dont think stock amp has enough power). Then did the dash mids....oh boy...very big difference. Then the tweets..another step up. Tried a powered sub(rockford PS-8). Couldn't get it to integrate very well. Sure I could get a step up in boom...but not really musical. Then I took apart stock sub and sound treated the inside with cld..much better. Then Coax in the rear...like frt doors better but not over the top. I disconnected the center...I'll be damned if imaging wasnt improved by a large margin.

That being said if I was gonna do speaker swaps I would start with the dash mount mids. But also the trickiest. No mounts or adapters availible. So I had to make adapters by tracing shape of stk speakers on 1/4" ABS/hdpe and making adapters. Then the connections...these are different than anything out there..I ended up using these from a jeep tail light. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089292V5C?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
Expensive at $14 each. Alternative is to cannabilize stk speakers.

I am now experimenting with a full range center speaker...jury is still out.

BTW I am going...in phases...to a 3-way full active system. Also I will add.... I used Audiofrog speakers GB10,25,60,GS62. Probably overkill if you are not adding an amp and dsp etc. Also did full sound treatments to the doors and back wall.

Am I the only one that thinks the unleashed sounds pretty darn good? Way better then my 09 Lariat. The music source does make a huge difference. As usual, XM radio is not great. Could even say bad. Wired Apple Music is great. Even the wireless Apple Music sounds good to me.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that it's a safe bet that if I don't understand half of the comment concerning upgrades, then I am not a good candidate for said upgrade. I don't expect my ride to be a rolling concert hall, and certainly don't want to be "that guy" at the traffic light!
But I do understand "garbage in, garbage out." If the input is crap, the best system on the planet isn't going to make it sound any better. I'm not surprised that Sirius would fit in that category, they quit worrying about quality a long time ago. But what about a feed from Amazon Music or Pandora? How do they stack up with the quality of the feed?
