I'm going to go with the recommendations from most on the Michelin Defenders, but I'm going to wait until I need to change the tires out.

They may not be the macho-est looking tire, but they are much more than they might look.
I don't know what Michelin's secret is, but they make a great truck tire. Love how they roll.

How are tthe Michelin for towing? I put on probably 20,000kms towing my 7000lb RV around north america and the Hankook did a great job in my opinion running at 44psi.

Look at the Michelin Defender LTX M/S and the Continental Terrain Contact HT (not AT)

There is a new Defender LTX M /S 2 that is too new for ratings as well.

Michelin Defenders came on my neighbors GM truck and he owns a dairy that is down a gravel road. The tires would pick up the gravel and when he started driving on pavement the rocks would get tossed up and hit the truck. He was very happy to replace the tires.

I drive down the same gravel road with my vehicles and have never had the problem with their tires.
