Oh I'm sure these forums will light up when the files hit FDRS. Lots of us 2021 trucks out there and always looking for a reason to re-up our FDRS subscriptions.Best guess is whenever people start posting pictures of full screen Android auto/Apple car play.
One thing is certain - the "authorized dealer" model for servicing and maintaining modern software-based vehicles has to change. Using this well-known model simply doesn't work with these vehicles.I agree that is in Ford’s long term interest to support the work “the collective” is doing here. The sooner they embrace it and come up with a framework to encourage and support it, the better it is for their business and customers.
I know we bath Ford a lot here but yes I think everyone is dealing with this. Ford is ahead of the technology curve in some places and the bleeding edge comes with some discomfort at times.
Nothing remarkable about that proposition. Many owners have been updating their trucks since as early as January using a laptop, FDRS and a VCI tool you can buy on Amazon. https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/threads/ecu-module-programming-guide-using-fdrs.8249/With the jackered up way Ford stages OTA updates It would be soooooo nice if Cyanlabs came out with a sync4 updater tool like the Sync3 tool. Then we wouldn't have to wait for Ford to decide when we get features like this. We could just run the tool and update the system in a matter of minutes ourselves.
That's awesome! Assuming it works for Android auto as well? So. I was able to get a version installed on our version of apim. So again it’s proven it is just ford being ford and not any different hardware. Why ford does all of these stupid versions is beyond me. They have done it since MyFord Touch.

Well at this point between seeing it works on our hardware, and having preliminary release notes I think it's probably a matter of time before it trickles down to us via OTA updateI’m sure it would I don’t have android to test

Well it is as of now. This software is a 2023 version. So possible those will have it. Alexa even works with this version in our early trucks. Just further proof Ford is being ridiculous.Jesse-
I believe you stated this was only going to be released to Lightning owners, correct? So mad about that..
Good Ol Ford……So. I was able to get a version installed on our version of apim. So again it’s proven it is just ford being ford and not any different hardware. Why ford does all of these stupid versions is beyond me. They have done it since MyFord Touch.

I'm still amazed the vehicles weren't shipped with that capability, it looks ridiculous lolGood Ol Ford……
Full screen CarPlay is 100% more valuable to me than BlueCruise. You would think this is an easy upgrade for Ford especially when compared to BC. I’m sure the rollout will be smooth, if it happens………
Same. I have to assume it’s been Ford holding it up as both Apple & Android go full screen after this update.I'm still amazed the vehicles weren't shipped with that capability, it looks ridiculous lol
