Has anyone had one replaced lately. 20k miles with six recalls and a black screen. I will never buy another Ford.

Many people have had the APIM replaced; particularly with 2021 trucks. Since it is the first year of this generation, there was some bad software going around that would prevent trucks from getting updates over the air. If they do replace your APIM, make sure you tell the service advisor to have the techs perform a successful PMI process on it after they install the new module.

For my info. What is a PMI process and what does it do. Also what may happen if they don’t.

Had my APIM replaced in January, took a month of trips to the dealer to get the part and fix it. I never got one update before they replaced it and haven't had any since. I had 12 updates pending before the replacement, hopefully the dealer took are of them, not sure where I stand today. Sync still showing version 21146 three months later.

If they don't run the PMI after they install the module, it will not work right. It is a standard process that they are supposed to do, but many dealers either don't do it at all, or they attempt it and it fails, so then leave it undone. PMI stands for "programmable module installation". The article below explains it better than I can:
