Second the Grainger option. I have it as well. Seamless process. From the Apex FAQ page:
Is there a money-back guarantee?Yes! Each Apex Protection Plan Mechanical Breakdown Service Contract has a 30-day money-back guarantee (providing there are no claims). After 30 days, upon your written request, Apex Protection Plan will refund the pro-rata, unused portion of your warranty minus any claims that have been paid. There is a $50 cancellation fee that applies if the Apex Protection Plan is cancelled after 30 days.*
*Some exclusions may apply. See your contract for details.Personally, I'd pay cancel Apex ASAP and contact Grainger Ford to get a Genuine Ford ESP.
Tried to pull same on me I waited out his speech it wasn't looking right then I asked who the warranty is through. I've had ESP on 3 trucks keep them decade or so. Worth it to me.It’s weird that a ford dealership isn’t required to sell ford warranty. Unless ford knows they get a ton of claims and they lose money on it…
I bought 4 vehicles over the last 18 months, none of the negotiating was done in person. The final paperwork was done before I arrived at the dealer if they didn't deliver me the vehicle. No warranties, no nonsense, one had "documentation" fees and I got them to throw in $500 worth of accessories as I told them quite plainly I cannot pay extortion fees, it's the cost of doing business.Tried to pull same on me I waited out his speech it wasn't looking right then I asked who the warranty is through. Dealers are independent franchises with an extensive and effective trade association / lobbying network. As a result, Ford's ability to dictate dealer activities is limited by law in most states, particularly when it comes to selling 3rd-party add-ons and 'warranties' which are highly profitable for dealers (products with a higher dealer markup / profit margin than competing Ford branded products). It’s weird that a ford dealership isn’t required to sell ford warranty. Dealers make more than ford using all of their gimmicks.Dealers are independent franchises with an extensive and effective trade association / lobbying network. That has nothing to do with the certain profitability for Ford of Ford's own 'extended warranty' business.
