I'm getting ready to put some different wheels on and don't see anything anywhere with info about trimming or modifying crash bars on a 21+ truck. Going with 22x12 w-51 offset wheel. 33x12.5 Nitto Ridge Grappler.

I had 295/55 R20's on 20X10 with -24 offset. Didn't rub on anything. No need to trim or cut anything.

Just replaced those with the 22X12's -51 offset and so far needed to trim plastic, bumper and need to take some off the front crash bar. Rear crash bars are good and don't need any cutting. Still rubbing on bumper. Thinking about tightening fox shocks a little more to get more height.

Tightened fox front shocks another 1/2" on the threads (while on the truck). Raised front end around another 1" for a total of 2.75-3" more than factory. Front was exactly leveled with the rear and had an illusion of the front being higher. So, I bought the Autospring 3" rear block kit. You take out the factory 1.5" block and put in the 3" block. Raised the back end another 1.5" and gave it a touch of rake again.

I know this thread has been dead a while but on the off chance you see this, you were able to do 12 wides with a -51 offset without completely cutting out the front crash bars? Everything I’ve seen says that’s impossible. Hope that’s the case because I just bought a 21 coming from a 15 scab that didn’t have crash bars. Hoping my 22x10 -24s will fit if I spread the bars with a porta power.

Didn't touch crash bars behind the front tires. But, had to trim some molding. I left the entire length of the front crash bars, but took a 4" cut off wheel and ripped it down the middle about 1/2 of the way from the end. I don't have a picture.

I do have a picture of my 24' with the crash bars trimmed right in the middle with caps on them. Way better looking. I had Waldoch in Forest Lake Mn put in my 4" BDS lift kit in. They had a really nice little trim set up to make behind the wheel look better than my 21'. Will post this afternoon.

Appreciate the fact you came back for a reply man! Got ya. I’m hoping i don’t have to trim any off the fronts with my less aggressive set up on a 2.5” level. But would love to see what they look like on your 24.

I know this is a old
Post. I’ve been looking for some type of end caps, where did you find these? Looking all over the internet. Thanks again.
Hope this message finds you
