This may be a dumb question. I have a Lariat 502a, sometimes when I push the headlight control it cycles high beam, low beam, auto...other times, for no real reason it just cycles low beams and auto. Any idea why?

The 502A has auto high beams. If it's dark enough and you're over a certain speed (32 mph based on my recent driving), the high beams will come on if no vehicles are detected in front of you. They'll shut off when another vehicle is seen. You can override the automatic function using the left stalk of you wish.

I couldnt figure it out. Headlights are on auto when you start - my high beams went on and off etc. But they are super smart.

You should have an auto high beam setting you can turn off if you don’t want that feature on, which turns High Beams on and off with on coming traffic approaching them back on, this is what I’ve found

XLT 302A (High) also has this feature.

My XL does this too lol, I don’t think there is any F-150 trim that doesn’t do this
