As I disassemble my dash and interior panels to make MY21 to MY22 upgrades, I am noticing that Ford skimped on putting anti-squeek treatments around many of the clips and tongue inserts that secure panels.

Does anyone have any recommendations for something like a thin felt covered tape that I can put into place to replace/augment the simple yellow tape treatments so that I can minimize squeeks/rattles after putting this all back together again? It would likely have to be thin enough so as not to 'push' the panels out once replaced so I may need two types, a really thin treatment for the clipped surfaces and a thicker one for the clipless guide tabs.

I found Hushmat tape on Bezos' marketplace but this may be overkill.

Oh, and one other thing. My rig will spend most of it's life in the Phoenix valley so whatever I use needs to be able to keep its adhesive in hot weather, not dripping it all over the place when it gets up to 150 F in autos parked in the sun.

Thanks in advance!

Honestly, this looks very similar to the tape that Ford has used for their wire looms.
Indeed, it is for all practical purposes indistinguishable, great for making your own harnesses / mods appear 'OE'.

Aside from wrapping cables and clips for sound isolation, I've also used Tesa tape for between panels (metal/plastic).

'Squeak tape' may also be of use for between panels. High density PE. Used for drawer slides of woodworking jigs -super slick, anywhere you want no friction.

I keep Tesa 51608 Black Fuzzy Fleece Interior Wire Loom Harness Tape on hand for other uses, might do the trick for your 'silencing' application.
It looks like there are some higher heat versions of this tape as well. The reviews indicate the higher heat rated stuff is maybe slightly thinner and firmer, and with a stronger adhesive:

Thanks for the guidance all, Looks like TESA tape is clearly the favorite.

I purchased a four pack of cloth wire loom wrap. In essence it feels like cloth electrical tape. I planned on using it to stop my mirror inside mounts from creaking, but they stopped on their own, so I have not used it. But I planned on popping them off and putting a little strip where the retainer clip goes, that's what I've heard several say do, I imagine you could do the same across your dash. When I have infinite amount of time I will probably do the same to mine as well, I hate creaks and rattles. And I think with it being pressed in the location of the clips even if the adhesive let's go it will be pushed in there by gravity, worst case scenario you just replaced that strip if it comes out from the heat.

funny i'm seeing this pop up. i was going to ask a similar question. seems either my upper or lower (cant remember which one at the moment) glove box likes to rattle. if i reach over and put my hand on it, it stops. i was wondering if something like this tape might help. thanks
