Found a smoking deal on brand new in the box AMP steps. (For the 2015-2020 F150)

I know I will need to do a slight modification on the passenger side like what I saw on Gears and Gadets YouTube channel…..but that doesn’t look very complicated at all.

My question is about the plug and play harness on this setup.

Will it cause any issues with my PB or can I follow the install like Gears and Gadgets showed in his video?

If you look at the parts list for the different model years you'll see their OBD interface adapter is specific to generations. 20 and under and 21+ are not interchangeable.

Are you looking for dual motor or single motor? I have my single motor I pulled off my PB -- was on it for 5k miles before I wired up F250 boards into my cooled seats (I'm about to list them - single motor unit w/ 4 LED lights). I put the motors in the rear and drilled holes through the rear of the cab with proper grommets (gromets still on the harness). Using single motors in the rear doesn't require modding. I miss my amp boards vs factory as they only dropped when the door was opened and only the side on which the door was opened. Factory boards deploy when you approach or unlock.

So you’re saying the entire kit wouldn’t work?

Or I could buy the kit I originally asked about and swap the plug and play harness?

You need the OBD2 adapter specific to your truck. I looked a few weeks back and they weren't available. ?‍♂

I purchased a heavily discounted set. Install was fairly straightforward just take your time. The OBD that came with it was for an older generation. I called tech support and ran thru their process and they sent me the updated OBD adapter. Drove around for about two weeks until it came in. Wired up the updated adapter and it has been flawless ever since. I will say the lighting supplied is weak and you most likely will want to update the LED. Good luck and I think you will enjoy the steps!

So the older OBD style worked? Just not ideal?

I don’t mind buying the kit, and waiting on a $59 part either, but it sounds like you installed yours before you had the correct adapter.

Correct. I installed per directions with what was in the box. It did not work. Called tech support. They sent me the updated adapter. Works perfect.

Thanks for the info!

I just need to find out how long the back order on these adapters is.

These are supposed to be pictures of 76151-01A for a 15-20 F150. (The boxes show 76152 so I’m not sure if that internal code or if it’s a different model number)

The owner sent these pictures to me when I asked him to verify the contents of the box would be compatible with my 2021 (after I get the proper OBD adapter).

Does this stuff look legit?

Thanks for any info. I’d love to not waste a two hour drive if I don’t have to!

They all look the same for the most part, no clue what the original boxes look like. The mounts to the body are unique to ford as is the OBD2 which is specific to generation and truck. You have to verify each part number on the website/instructions
