Ambient lights not turning off when shut down and locked?

Might be hard to see but has anybody noticed when the doors are locked that the center console cubby and back ambient lights over the power outlets in the backseat don't shut off?

You can see in the pic the infrared sensor working as well, I'm assuming for the motion sensors.

Yes!!!! I know what you mean! For some reason they stay on while all the other lights go off. I did check my truck twice and after about 10 or 15 minutes they do eventually go off..

I just checked as well after a good 45 minutes and they went out.

I'm having the same issues. Rear ambient lighting stays on. My Platinum has also started going into deep sleep mode immediately when I turn off the ignition. And to top it off, the intrusion alarm is randomly activated when my vehicle is parked in my driveway. Called the local dealer and they don't know what could be causing the problem. This is the first Ford I've owned with any type of problem. $70k for a lemon.

I just saw your post. I'm having the same issue and the dealership said they can't find the problem. Did the ford rep. help you and was the problem fixed?

Problem is not fixed and I’ve been told that that’s the way ford designed it and that’s the way they built it. There’s actually four lights that are on all the time. The light that OP posted a pic of and yer glove box, center console armrest cubby, and those stupid LEDS in the back. It’s all on the same circuit. Now they do shut off eventually as stated when parked and ignition is off but are always on as soon as truck is turned on. Now the ford rep was very nice and I dealt w two different dealers during this b??ll shit. In the end I expressed how stupid it was and they gave 45k maintenance deal for oil changes and tire rotation.

In the FDRS thread, the ambient light around the USB ports are the telltale sign that the truck has completed its network shut-down and thus ready to verify the last module updated has completed.

These "$70,000" trucks are NOT like any other truck in the world. They are designed and built for what Ford calls connected services.

They are IOT vehicles.

Blame Tesla for advancing what vehicles are being designed to accomplish. Ford's Mach-E is their Tesla response and Ford decided to include their F150 as a participant in the new connected model.

I don't disagree with you, you only forgot to note that Tesla designed all of this from the ground up and have some very forward thinking in their designs. I won't say it is right for everyone, but it is different and works for them. Ford wants to be them without doing the redesign work.

No modern Tesla has an accessible fuse box. They use mosfet's on the boards of their control modules. Not every freaking part of the car has an individual control module. They have 3 main - left, right and center. Think about that. It works and works well, but makes aftermarket accessories very hard. Truck guys don't like that.
