A bigger worry is it's looking like a UAW strike is coming, they have come up with some crazy demands like a four day work week and 40% raise over the next five years. The Big 3 are working lots of overtime six days a week to build inventory.
How dare workers expect a share of the profits when they are only the people actually putting the vehicles together. The money paid to the workers stays in the communities and benefits everyone. The profits for the banks and hedge funds ends up overseas where it can escape taxes and benefits only the 1/10 of 1% of the people.

Aren't wages what they signed on for? Plus insurance? That's what I get. I don't expect the company I work for profits, now if I get a bonus, awesome. I don't expect it.

This remain true for vehicles made in China or Mexico?

Workers shouldn't share in what the company does.

They get paid to do a job. Some of them are lucky to have a job at all. The word was for years, people got paid $50/hr to push a broom. Then all those jobs went to Mexico and Canada, or overseas...

Yeah, we can pay someone in mexico $5/day to do that... not some entitled dude in cleveland

Eh depends, GM locally pays $16 an hour. You can’t live off that. If it was Mexico you could. Our corporate overlords want to inflate prices to the next extreme they better pay their guys enough to be able to eat when they go home. I worked all through college for way under my wage, I never want to see anyone else go through what I went through for the name of “experience”.

You are very naive. When the jobs were sent out of the USA they corporate bosses also sent out the technical knowledge and working capital. Entire towns in the United States are now virtually ghost towns, as with Detroit, that once was a thriving city and now cannot provide basic services like clean drinking water to its people.

No one ever got paid $50 an hour to sweep with a broom. Only in the USA would someone even be using a broom to clean floors instead of a shop vac or motorized sweeper. If you ever got out of your small town you would know and see this.

What is sad is that so few people travel outside the United States and do not realize just how bad it is here and how unique we are (excepting the UK thanks to Thatcherism) in not having free education, free medical care, functional high speed trains and light rail systems, and other aspects of a good life found elsewhere. You only need to go to Canada to see this for yourself. No need to rely on Fox News miscreants for your "world view".

One thing that the elites have been good at doing is keeping black and brown and white workers at each others throats and not looking at the people that are exploiting them all.

“If you can convince the lowest white man he's better off than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you." Lyndon Johnson

Has anyone looked at CEO compensation in comparison to average worker salary over the last 3 decades? It’s exploded. Used to be about 20X now it’s about 300-350X. Slash all the CEO’s pay by 50%-60% is a good starting point. I’m a registered republican by the way, but I do not agree with many of my parties beliefs. Jerking off the elite is one of them.

Houses when most of you grew up? 2-3X yearly salary. For my generation? 7.5-8X average yearly salary. I make good money out of college. I’m lucky. We are choking the upcoming “middle class” so bad. Wake up and smell the roses, nobody can survive off $17 an hour anymore. It’s been made absolutely impossible to do without food stamps thanks to our greedy corporate overloads taking all the wealth out of OUR POCKETS. The elite has been picking the middle classes pockets for decades, we are losing our buying power and wealth with every passing year. We used to be the strongest unit in the world. So don’t bend over, fight.

not to mention over 100 dollars an hr to ASSEMBLE vehicles...crazy as a betsy bug

what they need to offer is a regular cab LARIAT , short box with all those bells, captains seats, sync 4

5.0 and 3.73 rear gears with limited slip. just saying thats a screamer out of the box
lower it 2 inches
nice 12 inch wide rear tires
My xl has sync 4. With nav. And you can keep the capt seats.

Dude, there is no such thing as free anything. You sound like the niave one.

And paying 70% payroll taxes for those "free" services just makes you a slave to the government.

I would rather chose where I spend my money.

MSM does a great job separating people. They like it that way.
But unions have far passed their prime.
Americans by nature want to make a ton of money, yet not pay much for anything.
You can't have both.
