I'm going to have airbags installed for towing. On very rare occasion I'll need to tow almost 10k. I will no doubt have some pretty bad squat at that weight.

Can anyone give me some pros and cons on airbags? Compressor or no compressor?

I don't want to do Road Active Suspension (RAS), because it will jack up the rear end 2" and the level I did will be pointless.

You can install airbags without a compressor but you’d have to manually fill them from the outside each time you’d need make an adjustment. I did that for a while but moved to the lowest cost compressor I could find with a gauge. There is no comparison between the two. With on-board you can make slight adjustments as the road conditions change. Definitely worth time and money. My last set of airbags were ten years old when I sold the truck, still working just fine.

Thanks. That helps. Where did you install the guage? It maybe a better question where would you install it on a 2022?

I've had bags on my 2005 F150 since new, with KISS 'manual' fill, still love 'em.

Since the purpose is to 'correct' for load-induced sag, I adjust once when I add the load and never even considered a need for adjustment 'on-the-fly' based on road conditions. Though the pump I use has a gauge, I don't really use it, I fill based on direct observation of sag, not pressure in the bags. I know I've never come close to the max pressure rating of the bags. YMMV.
