So , as I wait for my Powerboost delivery I'm spending time on Utube , the enemy of my wallet , looking at possible mods and extras for the new truck. I came across seat covers , that according to the paid influencers are easy to install ,fit tightly and look AMAZING. My question , does anyone have experiance with these products and any insight. Kustom Covers look like a good combo of price and quality. 400 to 700. My truck will have cloth seats. I'm thinking covers should protect the cloth , and be easier to keep clean.

FWIW ....

I installed Clazzio leather seat covers in my 2005 F150 XLT with OE tan cloth seats to refresh the worn and stained cloth. These install OVER the existing upholstery (they are covers, not replacement upholstery like, for example, much more expensive Katzkins).

This is a pic today, about 4 years after installation, truck use is low after the first ~year, this is not my daily driver since getting my 2022 F150.

I'm happy with the fit, look, feel, and value (price depends on what you need, see the linked website). YMMV, just replying FYI.

Seat covers will never look and feel replacement upholstery, but the better ones do look okay. For a brand new truck I would probably spend the money for true replacement upholstery. You can usually find factory ones on eBay at a reasonable price, but you still need to budget several hundred bucks for the install., unless you are handy with hog ring pliers and can do it yourself.

Check eBay they have oem new factory take offs from lariat from $169 to $259. There are no hog rings on these new trucks they use Velcro zippers and tabs. There are a lot of good videos out there on how to swap them out. This is the one I used when swapping mine. Just pull ,push and spread it hard when installing to prevent wrinkles. Just like to give everyone as many options so they can pick what’s best for them. Here is a shot of mine that I did.

Good looking seats. What exactly is an OEM Factory take off? A second? Or someone replaced what came with their vehicle originally an are selling the original?

For those that installed the factory takeoffs , about how long would it take about? I watched the video and if I went that route I think I'd try to find an installer. I don't really want to mess with airbags and lifting the seat out.

I took my time . Probably about 3 hours to go slow and work and then rewatch video each step. For me i just wanted a nice oem higher trim look and didn’t want to spend the money. I would price around to see how much they would charge to install these before i bought them. All so check on Katskin price. So you could make a good informed decision.

Im intimidated by the airbag removal , and pulling the frontseat might set off my back. I checked Ebay. Going rate at this time seems to be 3 to 350. The only leather optios are black. One outlier tan in the bunch to. I'm waiting on the truck so I have time. Thanks again.

I have tried several different brands; however my Wet Okole seat covers are the best for fit and durability. Meaning simple to fit, tight-fitting and indeed as they are promoted by the influencers amazing. It works awesome to protect your cloth seats and keeps them clean as the material is neoprene. Despite being more expensive, they are definitely worth the price for their good quality and what you get.
Thanks for the recommendation. With the half inch foam it looks like the cloth seats would be protected. Do you think they would hold up to dogs without tearing? Is the neoprene prone to smells?
