Aftermarket Intercooler Worth it with a JB4?

"I am considering upgrading my intercooler to a CVF Titan or a Mishimoto to help with the heat here in hot Texas. I am also running a JB4 Map 3 with a KN cold intake, and I was wondering if anyone else is running a similar setup. From what I have read, upgrading the intercooler is a significant improvement, but I'm interested in hearing more about other people's experiences and results."

After plenty of homework, I ordered the CVF Titan and will be installing it tomorrow. I will report after.

I wish JB4 reported IAT2 to know the temps of how the stock intercooler is doing and the results with aftermarket IC

Get a OBDLink to monitor it. I did and loving it. They change the turbo intake inlet temp to voltage only.
I'm running both JB4 and OBDlink.

I cant remember if it was 5Star or another tuner or someone who offered an intercooler upgrade...but there was a video floating around "someone" doing dyno runs with the stock tune with the stock intercooler vs an aftermarket.

the stock intercooler got heat soak REAL REAL bad after just a couple pulls and lost HP significantly.
the aftermarket one did exceptionally well...with just the stock tune.

The video concluded that everyones first upgrade should be the intercooler even if you're running the stock tune.

i still went with the exhaust b/c of the sound but nonetheless, i still think that might be my next upgrade
