I was curious if anyone has put aftermarket downpipes and or an intake on their powerboost? I’m curious if it’s even worth doing so in terms of power gains. I won’t lie, I absolutely love hearing the spool of turbos (especially with how loud Fords Turbos can be) and I am looking for that sound and obviously some more power out of the rig. Thanks in advance (this forum has always been a huge help in the past).

You won't get any power gains, just some added sound. Unless you get a tune for them. And even then you might not gain anything over stock.

This is 100% correct because the factory tune isn't trying to make as much power as possible within a given set of parameters. It is specifically limited to making no more than 541 lb-ft and 409HP which can be achieved in stock form. Certain modifications could fool the PCM into allowing more power than it's supposed to, but I wouldn't expect anything significant unless fooling the PCM is your goal.

The funny thing is that plenty of air filter companies love showing 20HP gains with their cone filters on stock F150s, but a stock truck wouldn't allow a gain like that if it was running properly to begin with.

The graph below shows what the factory tune allows, just keep in mind that this is just engine torque and horsepower, the electric motor isn't factored into these limits.

What would be the best on a budget to put on a 2013 f150 xlt with the ecoboost to make it a little louder and aggressive?

A tune alone in the PB is a better investment than the down pipes if it's either or. It limits torque to keep the trans within parameters/rating. It's rated 800nm and that's what the truck limits itself to. The electric motor alone makes 300nm.

No down pipes available as of yet either -- supposed to be at least companies working on them. Seem to be taking exceptionally long though.

Does the trombone from the 3rd gen Raptor fit the PB? It makes the Raptor sound like a GTR.

I'd be cautious/think carefully about making a PB loud. Not knowing when the ICE is running is bonus. When you remove that you could be making it sound more like you're having random engine trouble as it makes noise and then it doesn't. You also lose stealth generator mode.

I prefer operating under the radar, especially if something occurs where you need that generator and the fuel in your tank. You can get blow-off valves and vent to atmosphere for all the little noise you want. Hell vent it to a kazoo. Just be extra thoughtful in your quest for exhaust options and the ramifications that follow.
