I did some searching and could not find any information. Does anyone know if an aftermarket BOV for our ecoboost rigs will void the warranty?

If you have turbo problems and they see a BOV they will deny your warranty in a second. You could try and fight it but I doubt it would be worth it.

I think the BOV would go good with a wing on the back :)

I’d love to find a gt3 style wing for my truck ?. A nice little blow off sounds nice with these trucks. My buddy has a turbo smart on his Raptor and it sounds great.

***Resurrecting this topic***
Did you ever get the BOV? Let's get an update brospef?!

But yeah I just got a PowerBEAST a few months ago and was looking into BOV. Did a lot of research and just today had an intelligent conversation with the Ford Service Manager at the place where I picked my girl up. He said, in short, a BOV on its own would not void the warranty (warranty on the turbos, engine, and everything else is still covered). He said it really depends on the dealer. If you do/did what I am doing, having convo's with the dealer, doing your research AND documenting it, get a Ford or Ford Approved product, install it at the dealership service center, and if a problem is noticed, they will give you the chance to turn it back to stock. These steps will help cover you in case it does get ugly and you got to lawyer up. All these steps counter their argument the BOV caused turbo problems; i.e. your rebuttal will be 'well why did you take my money and install it on the truck if it could/would lead to damage (counter sue for gross negligence). Another important factor to consider, a subset of the research and the product, if you go straight VTA (vent to atmosphere), your going to be much more likely to open yourself up for potential audit findings. HOWEVER, the hybrid BOV which allows for VTA AND/or bypass; so I'm going to set it up as a 33.3%VTA and 66.6%bypass. IF something were to go wrong, I will just put it to 100% bypass and have them prove I was VTA and that the VTA caused the turbo damage.

Why wouldn't I just put the oem bov back on if I needed warranty work done?

I bought my truck used. When I let off the throttle I can hear the BOV really nicely. On stock trucks can you hear it? My truck has an aftermarket intake, but I didn't look around to see if it had an aftermarket BOV.

Ford F-150 Aftermarket BOV for PowerBoost? IMG20220524184918
Appears I do have an aftermarket BOV on my truck made by supersonic. Pretty sure that wouldn't be the stock Ford valve.
Oh, for the question about blowing off to atmosphere. The BOV is on the intake so the only thing you can do with it is to atmosphere. The other valve goes on the exhaust and allows pressure to release so the impeller doesn't spin too fast. That valve has to open into the exhaust pipe and not to atmosphere.

The BOV is right behind the front bumper under the radiator.

Oh, I bought the truck from a Ford dealer this way and they sold me a 7 year extended warranty

I doubt there would or should be a warranty issue with that BOV. But having come from a couple of Ecoboost F150's and now more than a year into a Powerboost, the Powerboost is "in boost" a fraction of the amount that an Ecoboost is during Normal daily driving.
From what I have witnessed, the Powerboost PCM meets the torque request with electric torque before it requests boost.
Or put another way, I can accelerate 0-60 with 0 psi boost at a rate far quicker than an Ecoboost can without adding boost. It's remarkable, in fact, how aggressive your pace can be in this truck and never work the wastegate or BOV.

Of course I would be lying if I claimed that my Powerboost has non-functioning wastegates. :)

Thanks, for the life of me I couldn't think of the word wastegate.

I find it super easy barely an inconvenience to build boost in my truck. Maybe that is why I only be 18 mpg. ?

Lol
I love it!
But you are herby denied the right and privilege of complaining that your Powerboost does not meet EPA fuel mileage estimates. ??

However you are allowed to report that you smoked a Hemi in a Hybrid
