Hi All,

Thanks for reading. I have a couple of options in front of me for a purchase. Details below. I'd really appreciate any guidance and or thoughts on the potential deals below:

Truck A Details:
2024 F-150 4x4 Supercrew with 145" wheelbase
Carbonized Gray Metallic Paint
Black Sport 40/Console/40
3.5L Powerboost

Options:
  1. 302A - XLT Series - $4,770.00 ($2,000 Ford discount)
  2. 3.5L Powerboost Full Hybrid - $3,560.00 ($1,900 Ford discount)
  3. 3.73 Electronic RR Axle Lock
  4. XLT Black appearance package plus -$1,495.00 (20's and dual exhaust)
  5. Pro Power Onboard - 7.2Kw -$750.00
  6. Mobile Office Package - $550.00
  7. Bed Utility Package - $635.00
  8. Bedliner Plastic drop-in - $350.00
Dealer options:
  1. Front and Rear Molded Splash Guards = $205.00
  2. Wheel Lock kit exposed = $80.00
MSRP after Discounts and Destination = $64,335.00
Dealer offer = $55,000

Truck B:
2024 F-150 4x4 Supercrew with 145" wheelbase
Carbonized Gray Metallic Paint
Black Sport 40/Console/40
3.5L Powerboost

Options:
  1. 302A - XLT Series - $4,770.00 ($2,000 Ford discount)
  2. 3.5L Powerboost Full Hybrid - $3,560.00 ($1,900 Ford discount)
  3. 3.73 Electronic RR Axle Lock
  4. XLT Black appearance package -$495.00 (18's)
  5. Standard 2.4Kw on Powerboost - No cost
  6. Mobile Office Package - $550.00

MSRP after Discounts and Destination = $61,315.00
Dealer offer = $54,000

Are either a good deal? Is there anything I need to be concerned about, or are both dealers giving me a good deal? Truck A has five more options for basically $1,000 more.

Truck Dealer B offered me a $2,000 more trade-in. So, effectively, Truck B is 3k less.

Appreciate any thoughts. I know '25's will drop soon.

Truck A is the better option and if it's truly $10k off of sticker price, congrats.

Truck B isn't an option because it' doesn't have bed utility package or the 7.2kW inverter.

PB owners don't let potential PB owners buy 2.4s. It's like rule 10 of PB Club

Is the 7.2 inverter a big deal? I'm not looking to back up my entire house. 2.4Kw is enough to support a fridge or two if the power is out. I don't live in an area with frequent power outages.

On the bed utility package, I'm in my 30's. Not sure I need the step. Tell me if I'm being short-sighted or if those two options are better for resale.

In 24s bed utility includes the bed lights like previous years but now they light up without having to push the button. Also you could probably trade that step gate out to someone for $1500 even swap if you wanted. It's a seller's market for those. That said, I use mine more than I thought I would because it's easy. If you're doing a lot of work with the bed it becomes second nature to pull out the step. I don't use the handle thing, but the step is ..... well IYKYK

7.2kW inverter gives you options. You may have never previously had a use for it, but when it saves the day a time or two you'll understand. It's also 240v as well. 75% of PBs have the 7.2kW system.

Thank you. Seems like a dealer missed the option when ordering. I was kind of surprised.

I originally ordered the truck with the default 2.4Kw PPO option. About a month later we experienced an ice storm & lost power, and I realized that the 2.4Kw option was next-to-useless for backing up a home, and for the small additional upcharge the 7.2Kw was a much better option. I called the sales guy the next day and had them amend the order. Luckily, it had not been submitted for the build yet, so eventually mine came with the 7.2Kw PPO. After owning it for 2.5 years, there has been one time where the two phase power came in handy, however I have plans to connect the truck via my main panel. We don't get outages often, but when they do, all forms of life come to a halt. I also have plans for a trailer, and the 7.2Kw will be superior for that.

Truck A and tell that dealer what the other Dealer offered you for your trade. They will come up.

If it was me looking at these two trucks, I would choose Truck A, no contest. I have never been a fan of the 40/console/40 design. It reminds me of several company owned work trucks I have had in the past. Best of luck with your choice!

Speaking from experience, do not go with a PB with only the 2.4 . It’s the only regret I have with my 21 KR. You may think you might never use it, but if and when the time comes for the extra coins, well dollars in this case , it’s the way to go.

Friends don't let friends drink and drive.

As Hamma states: Friends with PB's don't let friends buy PB's without the 7.2. The generator functions completely differently and the 7.2 is the most efficient generator for 7200 watts you will find.

If you go to sell it in a number of years most will not buy a PB without that 7.2.

Take option A.

My Powerboost truck is fairly and accurately comparable to a big sedan with a big ass trunk. Street only. I've never regretted having the nuclear power station in the back. I've used it and I like it being there. The best thing though is sitting in it in the heat of summer using the AC without the engine running. I recommend getting the Powerboost.
