I had a 2021 F150 that utilized the wired pro trailer backup assist sensor. It had the plug on the bumper that had a 7 pin round connector on top and a pro trailer backup assist plug on the bottom. I had installed the wired sensor on the trailer. Fast forward, I bought a 2025 F150 that utilizes the checkered sticker and rear camera for the pro trailer assist. I looked behind the rear bumper and there is the pro trailer backup assist wiring there that is just capped off. My question is if I order and install the trailer plug that has the 7 pin on top and the pro trailer backup plug on the bottom and replace the current plug on the bumper that has a 7 pin round connector on top and a 4 pin flat connector on the bottom, will the wired trailer sensor work automatically without any forescan programming?

far from conclusive, but worked for me - I hooked up the Yaw sensor, did nothing else other than follow the training instructions in Trailer settings somewhere (drive straight then some sharp turns) - then it worked - it's too weird for me to quite trust it yet, but I think it does the things its supposed to - backs up properly and controls acceleration etc via the little knob

Should be at least 2 wires in that capped off plug for the yaw sensor, and I am guessing that it will work just fine without programming or anything. If it is fully populated then I believe it will also work if you got the rear camera and tpms setup stuff.

I put the Super Duty Kit on my TT. The replacement 7 pin socket was included with TT TPMS, and camera. No YAW sensor but i got one from ebay.

everything works as advertised on MY23 SC LARIAT.
