Trying to figure out a fix for the new problem that the recent updates has caused. Before the updates, I was able to turn on the ACC separately and Lane centering separately but now when I turn on the ACC the lane centering also comes on automatically, than I have to press the lane centering to turn it off. anyone know a way to separate these two functions again.
Sync version 24127
Revision 1270
This is ford forcing BC on to try and sell it. Is what it is
Yep, came out with new software a year ago or so and pretty much hard coded in it now to enabled lane keep when you enable cruise as well.

I've discovered if you turn on ACC while holding the brake (say at a stop light), Lane Centering will not automatically turn on. Same with the lane keeping in the non ACC trucks that have updated their IPC to the newest firmware.

Hope this helps...

No worries doc. I didn't post anything until after I was done. I found all the information I needed just reading through the thread. I just posted to thank everybody for sharing all the info.

Same as you, I had to add the wiring from the CCM directly to the IPMA. Ordered connectors and pins and built my own harness. I've done a lot of tinkering in my 47 years and I've been an industrial controls electrician my whole adult life, so I found it to be really easy to do once I found all the information in this thread. I haven't added rain sensing wipers, or bed lights, but I may do those soon. I did add the lighted cupholder, media box light, and glove box lights yesterday. Thanks to @JHForman812 that was even simpler since he makes awesome harnesses that just plug in where needed.
Adding the bed lights was one of my first mods. I have a tonneau cover on my bed to keep things dry when we travel on vacation and having the bed lights is a great option. My 500a had the wiring harnesses at the read fender wells already, so nothing to add there. I just ordered the correct left and right harnesses, switch, and aftermarket LED bed lamps. Made a few changes in ForScan and that was it. The "stubs" inside the fender wells have dummy plugs to keep dirt and stuff out. There are threads on this forum to guide you. As for the rain sensing wipers, I had to order the kit from Jesse Infotainment since the wiring harness inside the camera module didn't have power. No big deal though. The kit from Infotainment was a breeze to install. Good luck with your upgrades.

I recently discovered this thread and have been reading it with interest. ACC was one feature that I really wanted in my new to me vehicle, but I got an F150 without because we were focused on things like the 36 gallon tank and payload capacity for towing. So now I have an XLT 302A w/o 360 cameras that I confirmed does not have the wires installed. I'm not worried about making my own wiring harness but I'm sure routing it will be quite a pain. Other than that this looks like a fairly straightforward project - thanks to everyone for figuring all this out and sharing so much information!

One question for the group here that I don't think I saw much discussion on: how do people feel about picking up a used CCM from ebay vs buying new? I believe there was at least one post early in the thread where someone said their used one didn't work, and I also see that the CCM is stamped with "SET ASIDE IF DROPPED" which suggests they might be fragile (and who knows how a used one has been handled)?

Obviously buying anything used is always a bit of a gamble but if there's a 90% chance that it will work fine then I'd love to save the money...

I believe mine came from eBay and worked just fine. Once you start digging into your truck, you’ll notice everything says scrap is dropped. I could be wrong, but I feel like I’ve even seen a metal bracket that says scrap if dropped. If you buy a brand new CCM, you’ll either have a soft DTC or you’ll have to get the mongoose cable and FDR subscription to run a PMI on it. Another reason I didn’t mind going the used route.

Really? Huh. I read this thread a couple times and I was convinced that FDRS wasn't needed to set up the CCM regardless of new or used. Guess I need to go re-read it again.

I got a new ccm through ford and did not use fdrs. Just used forscan to calibrate the sensor. I do have a soft code that stays in the ipma but that is all.

As superbooty mentions, You don’t “need” FDRS. You’ll have a soft code (no CEL) if a brand new item isn’t run through what FDRS calls a PMI process. Thinking back now, if your vehicle never had said component, FDRS will not even let you run through a PMI. Could be wrong on that part. You can 10000% make this work with forscan alone.

Yeah, I figured that detail out right after my last post. Makes sense; thanks for clearing that up.

Another success story here...

A big thank you to everyone who has contributed information to this thread! I have an XLT 302A w/o 360 cameras, so I had to create my own harness. After re-reading this thread a few times and assembling all of the relevant bits of info into a document, I was able to collect up all the parts and over the course of the last few days got everything installed. I made all the changes in Forscan per the spreadsheet shared here, took it out for a drive and it just worked on the first try. I didn't have to turn anything on in the Driver Assistance settings or calibrate the CCM or let the truck sleep overnight or anything.

I didn't find anything in the project to be particularly challenging especially with all the great guidance found here, though some parts are tedious. All the effort necessary to remove the bumper just to install 3 bolts was pretty annoying, and routing my custom harness through the rubber boot in the firewall took some fiddling since it's not in the easiest place to access (though admittedly it could easily have been worse). Also for the CCM connector I ordered one that was not pre-wired - crimping the pins on wasn't hard since I had the crimper already, but feeding them into the connector was tough. I used 20 gauge wire which was definitely a bit too large for it. I ended up having to disassemble the back half of it and push the wires through each part individually. If I had to do it again I'd go with 22 gauge wire next time. Overall though it was relatively straightforward and I just followed the footsteps of a bunch of you here.

Question: would it be advisable to run the calibration procedure on my (used) CCM even though it worked out of the box? I'm leaning towards yes. I went ahead and recalibrated it - easy enough to do.

Thanks to everyone in this thread, I was able to add this to my 2023 F-150 Tremor 401a. I had previously upgraded my heated steering wheel, which to my surprise came with the new button, so I didn't have to buy that separately. I used the CCM and harness part number for my vehicle and bought the bolts at Advanced per an earlier post. The cheaper bolts worked perfectly and saved quite a bit of $$$. I did however remove the fogs (4 bolts per side) and two metal brackets (4 black bolts/2 silver per side) to run the new wiring harness. This made it A LOT easier with a trim removal tool. Then it was a matter of just programming it per my vehicle build. There were only one or two for mine that were different. I took that part slow and it worked perfectly today after calibrating last night and letting it sit overnight. I did have to request a 2 month extended license for Forscan since my standard had expired and they are not letting people buy it at the moment. I panicked when I couldn't access my modules to make changes. A quick Google search saved the night!

So your 401A was already prewired? I have a 2022 401A tremor (WITHOUT 360 CAMS) and just got a dealer to accept the work (I am still under warranty, I know I know) and I am wondering if the 22 401As are also prewired/proper IPMA?

I was in the exact same scenario as you upgrading the steering wheel to heated (Dealer installed), Thanks @JScaro !! They are charging quite a bit for work, but I don't' want to mess up warranty and I am not very comfortable with forscan or ripping apart a car to install these parts. (I have never taken a car apart and this being my first truck/big boy purchase after college.)

Yes, mine was prewired. You can pull the side dash panel off and look at the connector. If the connector is full, then you're prewired. Then you just need to swap the bumper harness.

Can I for sure do this without the 360 cameras? I cannot find anything explicitly stating that I can.

The google document I have says you need 360 cams, and the dealer doesn't want to do the work and charge me for nothing.

You can add Adaptive Cruise, and lane centering, how much work that will be depends on the trim level and what harness you have.

"from superfordman"
I would suggest checking the IPMA to verify if you have the 4 wires running
the middle connector from the IPMA, C424B, notice if its missing pins on 9, 18, 19, 20 or not

Can anyone confirm if my IPMA is already pre wired?
I installed all of the hardware but when I did the FORScan portion, Pre-collision assist was malfunction and I could not even use regular cruise control. Im not certain if where I’m messing up.
I’ll try again tonight if the wiring is correct.
